We have been meaning to stop by for lunch after passing on the street several months ago. It was an amazing experience. It is advisable to call prior to arriving and make a booking ( we did not) but luckily teh chef opened at 2pm. The building is a beautifully restored mansion and as our meal was prepared we sat...

We visited Berja for two nights to explore the Alpujarras and stayed at Casa Palaciega. This place has to be seen as it has been renovated by the owner and was wonderful. The owner could not do enough for us and his tajine and swordfish has to be some of the best food that I have eaten. He takes a...

From the moment we arrived, until we left nothing was to much trouble. Attention to detail was second to none. This is a traditional hotel with lavish decorations, comfy beds, air con, TV, en-suite. Beautiful pool and garden area. Would recommend for fine dinning and romantic getaways. Al Baz the chef /owner and his wife were first class hosts. Their...

Stayed here for a long weekend whilst visiting family in the locality. Beautifully restored palacio/boutique hotel on pretty square in Berja. Very clean, excellent food and very warm staff- highly recommended. Well located for walking in the Alpujarras.

We were a group of seniors who stayed 4 days and enjoyed the charming villa, the very warm and considerate welcome and service of the host family, and the exquisite food. Highly recommended, "worth a detour". Dishes always prepared on the spot in the "open" kitchen using top quality fish, meat, and vegetables.

All I can say is that besides the food be superb, every detail was perfect and the chef-owner was really nice to us. We had salmon as a first course, followed by at beef tagine and to finalize tangerine ice-cream with...

The building in absolutely fascinating, the host is kind, friendly and an excellent cook, rooms are very nice, pool is a great touch. If you decide to eat in, the chef is amazing, mixing Mediterranean and North African taste with a...

My husband and I had the pleasure of spending 4 nights at Casa Palaciega. Berja is a small village in the province of Almeria. Lots of things to see and do around Berja and Granada is also not too far away. We had a gorgeous suite on the first floor. Very large bedroom & bathroom (with spa). Small balcony overlooking...

Casa Palaciega is a hidden jewel. In the heart of the ancient town of Berja, formerly the silk capital of Europe and also famed for its mines dating back to Roman times, Casa Palaciega is a beautifully restored mansion now a family-run hotel where every detail is taken care of without any pretentiousness whatsoever. Most tourists to the Alpujarras will...
