We had 2 double rooms in the main house. These are not recommendable and we would not choose them anymore. The rooms are extremely small, very ringing (the reception is on the lower floor) and the furniture is outdated. The pictures on the website about the double rooms do not correspond to reality. I would definitely choose a premier suite next time.
Otherwise a very nice hotel with a good restaurant. Ibiza town and its beaches are about 20 minutes away. There are enough (free) parking spaces available. Beside the Ca Na Xica we already stayed at the Pure House Ibiza and the Giri Residence. These are much smaller and more personal than Ca Na Xica, you feel more like visiting friends. However, the Giri Residence is far away from Ibiza town. Pure House is close to Ibiza Town, but has very small rooms (except the "best room").
The hotel is suitable for couples/adults and not for families. During our stay only adults were there.
When we arrived, we were greeted by a lovely host who made us feel at home straight away. She informed us that we had been given a complimentary room upgrade which was exciting. We were shown around the property (which we had been to before having eaten at Salvia many times) and then we settled by the pool until our room was ready. The manager (I think) was lovely too, and full of welcoming energy.
The service around the pool is pretty lacklustre. I felt a little like I was bothering the staff and that they would rather you went up to the pool bar, instead of catching them as they practically run past you. If you order food to your sun bed it takes the staff ages to clear away the plates, we ended up actually stopping one of them and handing it over. The pool area felt dirty. There were a few cigarette butts by the end of my sun bed - which I wish I had taken a photo of to show! - and the actual pool felt like it needed either a clean, pressure wash or refurb or all of the above! There is a water feature at the end of the pool which wasn't turned on whilst we were there which seemed like a shame. The sun beds are comfortable though and there were plenty of towels to go around. It felt quite private because the sun beds and cabanas are spaced out well.
We were shown to our room in the afternoon, which was pleasant and practical. I wasn't blown away by the terrace which apparently is the 'best part of the room', I think the best part is that the shower looks out onto a small private walled garden so it feels like you're showering outside which is a lovely touch. The shower gel, shampoo and conditioner were gorgeous - I would actually buy these for home. The rest of the room just felt a little clinical.
We booked Ca Na Xica because we wanted to use the spa on our last day, but unfortunately both the steam room and sauna were out of order. We only discovered this as we went into the spa ourselves. This was a real shame.
Salvia, the restaurant, is great and breakfast was incredible.
I probably wouldn't book to stay here again, Safragell, close by, is a better option.
Paul the sous chef as well. Definitely worth a Michellin star.
we indeed booked a double superior with preference for upper floor with pool views or garden, traditional Ibicean furniture. But we got an upgrade with not that great views stil nice, and big room.
All in all great location for exploring the North and East of Ibiza
Exceptional service, from arrival to checkout. The perfect level of not being seen yet there when you needed something.
The rooms were amazing, faultless and cleaned throughly.
Breakfast was epic, a lovely selection of meats, cheeses, fresh juices and cereals
Eggs are made fresh on request and were very good.
Private transfer from the airport was made last minute and excellent.
The pool was stunning and the only hotel I have stayed at that had more sun loungers than guests. Perfect!
We (unfortunately) had a double room in the main building, which was a bit small! Next time we will take one of the new suites!
The design brief could be summed up as modern European luxe with a strong emphasis on comfort. This applies to the rooms, the restaurant and the outdoor areas which are all beautifully fitted out. It is the sort of place that makes you want to redesign your home.
The food is first rate with a lot of variety on the restaurant menu. What brings everything together is the strong service ethic of all of the staff. I can’t remember a better experience in that regard.
A special mention has to go to Lucia who looked after our every need and gave us several excellent recommendations for restaurants on the island.
We will be back!
Carla, Maria and the rest of the team at Ca Na Xica made our trip so special and I truly believe every single detail has been thought of. The details are what I believe make a holiday: the welcome drink, the eternal friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, the beauty and upkeep of the property, the service, the pillows, the shower pressure (I know, silly, but is important!), the decor, the coffee, the reservation bookings with local places, the breakfast and the variety of recommendations for beaches, day trips, dinners, etc.
It really was an amazing stay, and a much needed break from the real world.
Thank you Carla, Maria and the rest of the staff at Ca Na Xica. We will definitely come back and stay with you again.
We just loved this place. The breakfast was great with beautiful views from the restaurant. Ca Na Xica is set in a more quiet and less busy part of Ibiza. We loved it here and would definitely recommend.
