As you see last reviews has been made in 2017, which I thought is a bit strange but I booked here anyway. What a mistake: 1) the pictures you see are no existing. The hotel - as we were told - has burned out, now there is a big construction. The hotel presents themselves on different webs with photos which are not existing 2) the existing building looks like ruin, old, dirty... the entrance to the - what they call reception, is rather cold and dirty office - smells like hell as the “boss” is smoking in the area. You see the full ashtray everywhere... That was it. More I cannot describe as after this experience I have immediately cancelled our reservation and left the hotel. I would like to say, I did this only once before (similar situation) and it is more than 10 years ago. So I’m really not kind of person who claims without a reason! They charge 130 € for double room, which is just unbelievable that anybody would pay.... it seems to me like a huge defraud! Anyway there was zero guests when we arrived

The rooms are large and comfortable, excellent gardens, exquisite restaurant and perfect breakfast. The service was also excellent except for one elderly head waiter, whose attitude and behaviour towards us as restaurant guests (two nights in a row) was quite unacceptable. If he worked for me, he would be sent on his pension tomorrow!

We were 5 persons in three rooms, enjoying a wet and sunny weekend in Der Historischer Krug. 2 couples and my mother in law. We decided to do a historical trip to Schleswig, staying here. This seems to be the perfect centerpoint for such a tour, and we were not disapointed. The rooms were fine, just as we needed, a bed and a shower. The first night we enjoyed a three course meal (3-gang) with local wines, and on Saturday we had a separate chamber to our small party, very nice touch. This was a 5 course meal, with delicious small dishes and excellent red meat as main dish. We tried the dessert wine as well, and it suited the dessert very well. We asked for a bottle of wine to take to our room for a finishing drink, this was possible, nice. The nerarby fields and memorial of Sankelmark was on our tour, as well as Dannevirke, Hedeby and Dybbøl. Even with a lot of Rain Saturday, we did manage to get shelter on Gottorp Castle always worth a visit. Especially the Nydam Boat is impressive.

This inn or hotel from the 1500, is amazing. it is like going back in time, staying in a museum, with pictures and items from the Danish/German battle from 1864. staff very pleasant and helpful. food too is top class. The rooms are very spacious and cosy. Wellness centre is fine and relaxing, not out of this world, but alright. Lovely gardens.

Nice , pleasant service. Very good food in sleepy German village. The room was quite big and clean. The standard is mid-range, very sufficient for my purpose that was transit. The architecture was very nice, and the dinner good.
