We first met Stevie, Rosie and Pepe back in June when we stayed at Cala Blanca with our daughter and son in law. So we had to visit again last week with friends! Such a warm welcome and fantastic food! Well worth taking time out from all inclusive or half board holidays to go to this place!
Just spent a week at Vista Taurito. It appears that the majority of apartments are owner occupied with just a few rented out for holiday lets. The accommodation is at the top of a steep hill and the walk from the beach back up the hill takes approximately 50 minutes. The pool and communal areas are extremely well maintained and spotless. The whole apartment area is also very secure, with many gates. The apartment itself was also clean and modern. It had an open plan kitchen/lounge area with a two ring hob and microwave for cooking. The balcony was huge and nicely furnished. There are also two canopies that can be utilised if you like some shade. The bathroom was bijou and quite poorly lit. It also contained the washing machine. The apartment was adequate in size for two people. I don’t think it would be suitable for any larger a number, unless you have a small baby. There was no air conditioning and the bedroom was very warm at night. There was a TV with many international channels but we couldn’t access any English speaking channels. The restaurant/bar is near the pool. It opens about 1pm and blasts out music to attract passing trade. I found this quite intrusive, especially as the music goes on until late in the evening. The bar is a nice place to view the amazing sunsets. We ate at the restaurant once and the food was mediocre. The loud music was very off putting. Taurito beach is a lovely flat, white sand beach. There are a few shops and bars locally but you would be best going to Mogán or Puerto Rico. We had a car and although parking it was a nightmare, I feel it was necessary in order to shop and visit the island. I would have been very bored just based at the apartment for a week. There is a bus stop at the bottom of the hill from which you can travel to the local towns.…
We were staying across the road at Cala Blanca and as the restaurant there is shocking we went to the one across the road due to others saying it was good - we were so disappointed. Most if the customers were from cala Blanca which underlines how bad it is. The music was far too loud and whilst the waitress was charming and helpful the food was shocking. I had chicken breast with a bland lemon tasting sauce and watery vegetables - of you want a decent meal go to Mogán
We were staying across the road at Cala Blanca @ Diamond Resorts. I had noticed good reviews of this restaurant before we travelled and made a note. However, a lot of people at Cala Blanca recommended too. A lovely couple run the restaurant/bar. While the husband cooks for the busy restaurant his wife runs around doing all the serving and drinks etc. Both with a smile. Delightful couple!! We had 2 lovely meals during our week in Taurito. The stairs are steep and awkward but you can ring a bell at the bottom (on the board) and they have a key for a gate to access a lift for apartments, which will take you to the level of the restaurant. Stunning views obviously. Highly recommend a vist.
We are staying at the diamond resort and were told about this restaurant and glad we went there the staff are first class and all meals are cooked fresh and very good value we had various meals and all were very good
