Everything was great! The rooms, location and food, but in particular the service and friendliness of all the team!! Every meal was memorable because of all the conversations and learnings we had. I would recommend this place to all my friends
This was a one night stop to meet relatives from opposite end of the country and chosen as a suitable halfway point between us. Late afternoon when we arrived on a bitterly cold day but log fires and a warm welcome were very much appreciated. Drinks in a lively bar followed by an excellent restaurant menu (and more drinks) set up a good nights sleep in a spacious comfortable bedroom. Cooked breakfast, a walk in the local arboretum under a clear sky and back to the frozen North. Credit to both management and staff for a short but enjoyable stay.
A wonderful, relaxing stay at the Horse & Groom. Made to feel welcome and the rooms are large, stylish and comfortable. In particular there are lots of nice touches. Nice dressing gowns/towels and lots of practical considerations (power sockets, suitcase stand etc). The food also must get praise for its quality. All the staff are friendly, polite and unobtrusive. I don't often post reviews but the Horse & Groom is worthy of the highest praise.
The evening started well a very warm welcome, the pub was visually pleasing we liked it. The service was mixed , as was the food . The food and wine menu’s are very small so one would assume everything was on offer. Firstly they didn’t have the wine we wanted , the nearest choice was more expensive then they didn’t have any pasta left. The leek and potato soup was gloopy as was the chicken pie , far too much use of cornflour or similar thickener . I left the majority of my soup and pie I was not asked if everything was OKWhen we went to pay one of the cards offered for whatever reason did not work , the server said “l need paying NOW” he seemed rather irritated Needless to say we will not be going again
The incredibly friendly and helpful staff at the Horse and Groom made our stay very lovely, as did the excellent breakfasts and cozy fireplace. The location was also central to everything the Cotswolds have to offer.
The Horse and Groom is a pub with (I think) 5 guest rooms. My room was comfortable and spacious, with patio doors opening to the garden which is a nice touch, especially as I had a dog with me. Dinner was very good; my only disappointment was that there was no breakfast on the day I stayed - maybe slightly understandable with such a small number of guest rooms. Well located for Broadway Tower and other Cotswolds attractions.
Very nice small hotel with comfy rooms. Staff were helpful. Matthew and Shawn looked after us very well and the manager even managed to get our mattress changed as it had a broken spring. Dinner was nice as was breakfast and we enjoyed our stay.
We were passing through to our next tour and needed to find a close lodging. Horse and Groom was close and so nice. Room was very comfortable and meals tasty. Close to walking trails too. Arrived to train station in Moreton-in-Marsh on Sunday. No bus service and hard to find taxis. Rec another arrival day.
We were warmly welcomed, The location is ideal for popping into the town nearby. Enjoyed the home made gin on arrival and an excellent breakfast the next day. The rooms were very spacious. Really enjoyed our stay.
