We had the Jaguar room. Definitely one of thos eonce in a lifetime experiences, sleeping in an old Jag. Overall we found everything very comfortable and clean, very friendly and professional service, from reception through to the restaurant. For dinner we had the Chateaubriand, absolutely excellent, one of the best we've had.
nice view, clean and quiet place. friendly staff . the tub in jaguar suite should have a bubble bath instead of salt bath since whirlpool is not functional. They gave us Gutschein to get cocktail drinks in the bar . overall it was a nice stay.
The hotel is situated at the border of the Lake Lucerne, an amazingly beautiful place in Switzerland. Snow-peaked mountains on the background, a beautiful lake, a very picturesque building. Truly outstanding. We stayed at the Schloss Hotel, but this is actually a big complex of 3 different hotels and bars and restaurants. Personnel very polite and classy, knowledgeable and helpful. The hotel is super nice, with a "medieval" vibe. Big, comfortable rooms, nice bathroom. Breakfast decent, although nothing out of the normal. They also have the lake, a swimming area, and other summer amenities not open, as we went late September. Highly recommend, if you by car and visiting the surroundings. Price is on the expensive side, but this is Switzerland, it's a 4-star hotel, and truly, I've been to swiss hotels with similar price but 10x lower quality. If there's a complaint, but nothing the hotel can control, it's this: we were 3 days on the region, and it's completely overtaken by chinese and indian large groups. We had very disagreeable experiences (including loud guests, that thought nothing of farting in the middle of the breakfast room, among others), but nothing to be done about....…
The hotel itself across the road does not have a restaurant, so breakfast and meals are a short walk away, but the food was well worth it. Attractive outdoor seating area with flowers and candles, but next to the road. The hotel has access to the lake, but the rooms seemed a bit basic with tiled floors and the style a bit dated. Would gladly return to the restaurant.
We've been coming to the Schloss for 8 years now because it is our little corner of paradise situated right on the lake with the most splendid views of the alps. It is a great place to just rest and relax but is conveniently situated between Lucerne and Zurich if one wants to go on a day trip and visit the city. It also has a great little restaurant that serves local cuisine and a cosy little bar to enjoy a pre or post dinner drink.
Stayed here this weekend (28th-30th dec) A lovely little hotel in peaceful swiss village 15minutes train from luzern. Views of luzern lake and the alps as a backdrop. Room was lovely and spacious, nice and warm. They gave us a bottle of wine as it was our honeymoon. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Check in and out was easy. The gripes i have though as follows.... 1) no tea or coffee in the room, instead you have to pay 4.50chf per cup from a self service coffee area. This is ridiculous. I work in a small hotel in the uk, we are not 4* but we even have tea and coffee in all our rooms. 2) breakfast was poor. Only a small choice of cold meat/cheese/fruit and bread. The only hot was bacon and scrambled egg. Very disappointed considering it cost us £340 for 2nights b&b. Yes the location is stunning, its a authentic swiss chalet hotel but very overprice and not wuite value for money. I appreciate switzerland is very expensive all over, but considering this is out of the attraction sites such as luzern, lauterbrunnen, interlaken etc, the prices do not reflect. We chose not to eat at night either as were put off by the prices. Again £30 for a burger, id expect wagyu for that price to be fair. I do appreciate the hotel and staff though, it is a beautiful hotel and fab surroundings, but maybe look at prices. Many thanks The Newmans…
At first we were planning to stay in Lucerne so we had easy access to the town sites. We are very glad we changed our plans to stay at the Schloss Hotel! With the savings in price, we got a rental car for 2 days and could tour then entire area. The Schloss was spectacular! Our family got two separate rooms, but we could have easily stayed in one room since they were very large--a king size bed, a single bed and a couch. The decor was very unique, updated and very clean. Staff was very friendly. We stayed at the Jagd-Schloss across the street. Note--go to the main building to check in first. Breakfast included and was excellent.
We found this hotel on our way to Como, Italy... The Gotthard tunnel had a waiting of 5h in the direction of Italy. As we wanted to avoid this we stay at the Schloss Hotel. Always ask for a room away from the banquet rooms!!! the room itself was large, a little outdated and very dark. The restaurant was excellent for dinner, but you have to reserve!! breakfast great and varied!
We loved our room, every one was so friendly except for one lady who was at the reception, but somehow seemed not to be there. The front office team members were all great so we thought she maybe was seated there temporarily for a few days doing some work on reports. If she is a member of the front office we as guests thought that she is bringing down the high service quality of other FO members. The restaurant is also cozy and romantic, the steak was soft and tasty. The walk along the lake, their lovely garden, all the efforts they put in constructing from scratch. Interiors, the grandness of the rooms. They also offer free parking for their guests, we were meant to arrive by car and we think it is a big plus for a hotel in Switzerland. The spa area was also very well kept and we even enjoyed that very much. We thought what a great investment for Merlisachachen, that deserves more than a single night stay. It is ideal for hikers, nature lovers. We especially would like to thank Front Office Members who met all our requests above expectations. We hope that the lady at the reception had a temporary boring duty and if it is done she is back to smiling. Thank you all very much.…
Be aware that this hotel consists of three different buildings on two sides of the main road. We stayed in the Jagd Schloss, which is up the hill from the main hotel. Our family room was one queen bed and two twins in a very large, spacious room. We had a lovely view of the lake - see photo. Breakfast was beautiful, plentiful and delicious, a vast variety of breads, meats, cheeses, fruits. They also offered made-to-order specialty coffee and other beverages. The hotel bills itself as offering free wi-fi. We were not able to access it, however, as it requires sending and receiving text message to each device. As none of us had European phones, this was not an option. Reception was very helpful, going above and beyond to find us a dinner reservation on a very busy night. She also tried to resolve the wi-fi issue using her personal phone, although without success. All in all we look forward to staying again.…
