Detailed Reviews
I'm a bit cynical about the food in rather touristy areas of France, which are invariably cliched and all too rarely live up to expectations. Auberge du Pont Vieux is a refreshing exception with of course the classic confit on offerbut at least served with excellent hand cut frites and delicious vegetables (the Irish chef trained with Marco Pierre White). The cheaper menu is prepared with the same care as the more expensive one and we had some excellent fish choices that retained their authenticity and were a delight (eg oven-roast perch with herbs).
Rooms have incredible views over the old town and the river basin, with sounds of people having fun drifting up to the balcony, on which you can sit and enjoy the night air.

As soon as we arrived Mike greeted us warmly and kindly assisted us with all our bike gear to our room. He also allowed us to store our bikes inside so they would be secure for the night. The room was clean and had a lovely view, perfect for two weary cycle tourists. The next day Mike and his lovely wife provided us with some very useful and helpful information on where we should travel to next. We had no set itinerary and took their advice on where to go, we were not disappointed. They both made us feel at home and spoke excellent english! Thanks for the great stay!

Excellant Hotel, very well located and combined with an excellant restaurant. We actually live in the area, but spoilt ourselves with an overnight stay in the very restful Hotel, our well furbished room had a delightful balcony overlooking the River Baise. We had a delicious meal in the Restaurant, and consequently, we find ourselves going back again and again to enjoy the excellant cuisine combined with the very good service. The Proprieters of the Hotel are to be highly commended.

We got a very warm reception by the owner and could store our 2 cycles under the staircase.
Our room on the second floor had its charm and boasted a terras with views over the river onto the lovely town of Nérac.
Breakfast is the standard french breakfast, nothing special but ample and all you need for an other day of cycling.
The only minus was the blanket that smelled of dust. A quick wash would no doubt have solved that easily. A little pitty because both room and bathroom were very clean otherwise. We should have told the owner the next morning but it just slipped our mind inbetween preparing luggage for the next stage towards Villeneuve sur Lot.
Both Nérac and the ancient royal mill of Barbaste are worth a visit when in the neighorhood and I do recommand this hotel if you decide to stay the night.

The building is a wonder. The rooms are comfortable and the service is first class. Mike and his charming wife are terrific. Stay here if you can
The view over the River and up into the old town is worth the price of admission. We immediately opened the doors onto the balcony and started taking photos. Next we walked halfway onto the Vieux Pont to turn around and take pictures of the Hotel itself. We liked Nerac enough to look into a couple of properties with a mind to buying in the town. Nerac is a great base for visits to Auch, Condof. The town is located ideally to take in Auch, Condom, Larresingle, Eauze, Vic Rezensac, Montreal and Fources.

Overlooking the river Baise, with stunning views of the river and the town, this little auberge provided a real haven for us for 3 nights. A delightful English-speaking couple are running it, and they are most welcoming and informal. The building has a lovely interior with ancient beams and a wonderful atmosphere. I'd recommend it to anyone.

We booked this Auberge on the internet after seeing some of the reviews and were not disappointed. The hotel is owned by a young Irish couple and they made us feel very welcome. They also have an excellent restaurant and we had an enjoyable meal overlooking the river .
We had a decent size bedroom overlooking the river with its own balcony. Would highly recommend this hotel for couples or a family .

We met up with some friends and chose Nerac as it is equidistant from us all. We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay than this Auberge! The rooms were excellent with the added extra of a settee and the balcony overlooking the river. We also ate in the restaurant that evening and all enjoyed our meal very much, with the friendly young waiter adding to the animation. If you go you must try the langoustine terrine and the creme brulee with Baileys!!!
