Moulin de Bapaumes is located directly on the banks of the Baïse river, within walking distance of the beautiful medieval village of Nérac. This quiet retreat is the perfect address for young and old wanting to get away and yet still be on the doorstep of history, charm, medieval castles, wine chateaux, vinyards and sunflower fields. Once the playground to the royalty of medieval europe, now a fantastic opportunity for you if you are curious to enjoy and explore Sud-Ouest France!

If you are in doubt of staying with Daniel and Rene after reading the reviews and checking out the moulin, dont hesitate and book!

Daniel and Rene are the most hospitable hosts we have had the privilage of staying with. They truely went out of their wat to make our stay (even) more memorable. Restaurants closed on a Monday; dont worrie we were about to put some steaks on the bbq, why dont you join us. Our daughter still talks about walking in the garden with Bingo and Daniel and morning trips to the bakery with Rene. Our evening ‘borrels’ in the rustic and cozy kitchen, sitting around the big table, were one of many highlights (and did occasionally last somewhat longer than expected...;).

Daniel and Rene also bring a wealth of knowledge on good restaurants, fine wineries, evening markets (dont miss these) and cultural sites.

Daniel and Rene, keep up the good work. We will definitely be back!

Warm regards,
Simone, Taco and Feline!

The joyful and relaxed atmosphere at Moulin de Bapaumes made our 5-day stay a real pleasure. The host’s hospitality and passion for good food exceed expectations and we take home ideas for new culinary ventures. The accommodation is excellent, tasteful, all details have been taken care of.
Highly recommended.

I cannot say enough about how delightful this B & B is and its hosts, Daniel and Réne. The rooms are lovely, the breakfasts divine, the surrounding countryside is beautiful with many historical places to visit, and, in the summer, the night markets in the various villages are a special treat--food, wine, music, camaraderie. All-in-all, an experience not to be missed!!

Tucked away just outside Nerac this wonderful house/home was one of those places we’re you realise quickly that you have been very lucky.

The owners are wonderful full of knowledge for restaurants etc and they welcome you like old friends.

They speak English, Dutch, French for those of us that don’t ☹️

The house sits right next to a weer and the best rooms over look the river...we stayed in the back of the house and the room was really nice... each has a different theme....We slept in the Africa room which had a lovely walk in shower with dark woods and bits and pieces from Daniels travels I presume.

We are coming back to the area and we are not going to look anywhere else.....I think that speaks for its self.

Continental Breakfast was just delicious and severd from 8-10am with lots of cheese, breads, ham, home made green figs which I’m loved with the blue cheese.

Sitting in the afternoon with a bottle of wine on the veranda was pure relaxation heaven.

We stayed whilst attending a nearby venue for a wedding. We spent three nights at this beautiful house and were truly spoiled. Daniel and Rene are the most charming hosts, nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast was delicious and varied. The location, beautiful and so peaceful. Thank you both for your incredible hospitality and kindness. Emma and Kerry x

Moulin de Bapaumes oozes with charm and is set in a wonderfully peaceful and private location. While I would've thought our room & the location were fantastic alone, the proprietors, Daniel & Rene, took our experience to a MAGICAL level! They truly have the joie de vivre of hospitality and seem to genuinely enjoy what they do (and life in general!). This made a huge difference in our experience as compared to other B&Bs that we've stayed at.

We rented out Moulin de Bapaumes for a 5 night stay with friends and family on account of our wedding at a nearby chateau. We stayed the first few nights in the suite with river view, which I could not recommend more! It has a separate living room, which we used on the first night to privately enjoy local wine and charcuterie compliments of Rene (a much appreciated gesture after spending 30 hours travelling with family & friends). In the morning, we opened the living room's huge windows and enjoyed coffee as we watched the fog burn off the river into a beautifully sunny day. We then went downstairs to eat a DELICIOUS breakfast with fresh bread/ croissants, cheese, meats/ pate & all the accouterments. Simply put, we ate like kings! In the evening, Daniel & Rene were gracious enough to prepare a champagne toast & delicious nibbles in honor of our wedding. We enjoyed our champagne outside overlooking the river with French bistro music playing in the background - need I say more?!

Daniel & Rene's hospitality meant so much to us, especially given that we were in an unfamiliar role of coordinating accommodations for 50+ wedding guests. We forwarded them our wedding itinerary, and they took the weight right off of our shoulders by looking after our guests at Moulin de Baupames. In particular, one guest had a flight cancellation and they kindly calmed her and helped re-book her flight home. And now for the miracle - our Reverend was unable to get communion hosts for our wedding. As it turns out, Rene had inherited a cooking iron that was built to make communion hosts (I believe it was from the 16th century!). And as they say in France, Voila! Rene made all the communion hosts for our wedding ceremony!

I cannot thank you enough Daniel & Rene - your hospitality was unforgettable and more than we could have ever asked for! We will be back to see you ;-)

My wife and I were here for a friends wedding. We stayed 3 nights and were spoilt rotten by Daniel and Rene. The breakfast was superb with everything you could think of. They gave us some great tips and we thoroughly enjoyed checking out the area. I would highly recommend Moulin de Bapaumes and hope to be back one day.

We stayed there for three nights in the "La Paix" room. We were warmly welcome by Eloise, the room was spacious and very clean. We could arrange for our toddler to sleep in the corner and she wasn't disturbed by our chatter or by the lights.

We slept to the soothing sound of the small waterfall on the hill side of the house, and enjoyed perfect breakfasts with ample choice of fresh viennoiseries, fresh bread, homemade jams, ...

Eloise is the perfect host, always ready to help and make our stay even more enjoyable.

I agree entirely with the latest three reviews: tranquil; restful; beautiful yet convenient location; easy access to the village of Nérac which has plenty of restaurants; the lock on the river right at the foot of the building provides hours of harmless fun watching boats passing. The building dates from the late 19th century and is pretty typical of its type. What is atypical, however, is the taste, care, skill and attention to detail which has gone into its renovation over the last three years by the family who now own it. And that attention extends not only to the welcome you receive but endures throughout your stay. Breakfasts are generous. Two nights there really recharged the batteries. I look forward to more visits at different times of the year - and it's only 45 minutes from where I live...
