About
The hotel is made up of two parts which reflect the history of the site:
In the 18th century, one of the wings was made up of 15 rooms. This old part housed a convent, which later became a Hôtel-Dieu, then a post house. Transformed into a hotel in the 1920s, this establishment continued to grow and flourish.
In 1960, the construction of an adjacent wing made it possible to increase its potential by 8 rooms, including 2 for PRM “people with reduced mobility”.
To this was added an apartment consisting of two bedrooms, a dining room and American kitchen, a bathroom and separate WC.
Located in the heart of Périgord Vert, less than an hour from Angoulême and Périgueux, our hotel offers spacious and comfortable rooms.

Our stay was concluded with the efficient receptionist who wanted to make sure our bill was correct and concluded with some recommendations for places to visit in the area. Would certainly visit again.
A great shame that the rooms have not been updated as a meal sitting around the pool on a hot night in summer is just a lovely experience here.
Visited again this year and ownership has changed and so has the quality. The place looked dull and some long serving staff have left. The menu prices have increased without showing increased quality or choice.
The Pelisson had sparkle but it has lost it now. I will need some convincing to return.
Over the years, the Grand Pelisson Hotel became part of our family's pilgrimage to South West France - excellent local food, warming log fires in the winter and dining on the shaded terrace in the hot summer months.
Two years ago, the ownership changed hands and some in my family thought the sky had fallen in. However, the new owner has worked hard to slowly update the hotel, both decore and menu and have done so in a way sensitive to the locals who still enjoy the treat of dining there on a Sunday. The fact that the locals DO still come is testimony to their success.
I know not if the log fires are lit in the winter, but I am pleased to report that one can still enjoy an excellent meal on the terrace. As to the quality of the rooms, I am unable to comment - I just love the place.
