Shocking place. No booking received and no English spoken. €31 for the non electric pitch was frankly a rip off, the one up the road was advertising at €20. Hot water was virtually non existent so shaving wasn’t comfortable at all. Then for half the night a grip of youths were allowed to run amok, running behind vans and tents and shouting. Nothing was done by the owners until about 2am when it quietened. Grounds staff were fantastic and the setting is lovely. Such a shame that the owners / reception aren’t as good. Feel free to contact me with a refund…

Response from Peggy Lefée, Propriétaire at Camping Les Grands Sables

I'm surprised at your opinion . If you book on our website, the booking fees are automatically added: 9 €. If you don't want to pay the booking fees, you shouldn't book on our website but come directly to the campsite. You reserved on our website the 13th july. You arrived the same day few times after your booking. That explains why you didn’t get an answer. The response time was too short. I sent to you your bill with the details. I’m sorry if young people ran into your site, just call us if you have a problem. We are on site and reachable night and day.

It was a spontanous stay at the campsite because our booked house turned out a fake. The owners supported us in the conversation in French and in the end we rent a mobilehome. The owners are very friendly and everything ist very tidy. The campsite is located near the beaches and has many trees. Here we became fans of mobilehome holidays.

Les Grands Sables is the perfect place to stay, in its beautiful grounds, spotless facilities and friendly staff we couldn't have asked for more. What we love about Le Pouldu is the eclectic slow pace of life, it is simply wonderful. The stunning beaches and coastal paths to the port and everything else in between, if I could stay forever I would!

This camp site is the very best one we have stayed on in France. It is beautifully kept in all areas from the flowers, trees and shrubs to the immaculate shower and toilet block. The owners and family who run the site are very friendly and welcoming. We highly recommend this camp site to both couples and families who like a quieter site. It is in an excellent location just a couple of minutes walk from the beach. Petanque is played each afternoon on site for those who wish to play. We were made to feel very welcome by everyone and had a great holiday. We can't wait to return next year. Thank you Jean Marc, Joelle and Peggy

The saving grace of our 1 week holiday was that it was so close to the beach and most days were spent there. Whilst our 'luxury high end mobile home' was new, it was very cramped. Sadly, the owners of the site did not speak English very well and did not make us feel very welcome. The y were more concerned about rules than service and this really upset us, particularly as the inventory list was wrong, which took 3 days to sort out! Our children did enjoy the fact there were swings and table tennis on site and the laundry facilities were clean and acceptable. Whilst this site is quiet and well known (so we found out) for those who are keen boules players, it was somewhat restricting when it came to coming and going on the site as the main pathways were occupied with this game!

Response from Ocean29360, Responsable réception at Camping Les Grands Sables

Thank you for your opinion. You say that the mobile home was too small. Yet it is our greatest mobile home. It has 3 bedrooms and has a surface of 31,20 m2. The surface and the the plan are always specified in the description of the mobile home. About the English language, all staff does not speak English. It is better to go at the reception to speak English with the competent personnel. But we found that you speak French very well.   Compared to the rules of the campsite, there's always one in a campground. For example, the keys are always given at the reception and not, for the cleaning staff as you had thought. For inventory, you are the first customer to do so for three days, to ask about his translation and glasses that were already in your mobile home. Sorry that you are not you felt welcome. Maybe a little respect and courtesy with staff would favor our communication. About the petanque, it is true that many customers like to get together to play in a friendly way.
