We stayed here with a Smartbox and it was a pleasant surprise. Cozy and clean room, great service and good breakfast. In front of the hotel you park without problems, nearby they also run the bar where we received advice on which winery to visit in the area. There is a breakfast room that overlooks an amazing panorama!

We stayed 3 nights at this property with Smartbox box. Cozy room, clean, tidy and quite quiet.
Note of merit to the view of the breakfast room as well as the variety of buffet with sweet and savory options.
Worth noting, however, the price of the latter (outside the box) of € 8 per person per day, perhaps a little too much since there is no type of table service, you serve totally independently, including the cafeteria.

What an amazing place, the hotel us family run and they go out of their way to make you feel at home. The rooms are lovely and comfortable. The breakfast is tasty, and the fresh coffee is great. Our car broke down when we arrived, and our party stayed an extra night (8) they were more than happy to extend our stay and helped to arrange a vineyard tour and wine tasting with a local. They arranged transport there and back and booked an evening meal in the neighbouring village too. Again, with transport!. Upon checking out, the owner gave each couple a bottle of wine in a lovely bag to say thank you for our stay! We will definitely be back and highly recommend a visit to this delightful village and its beautiful hotel.

We stayed at this hotel yesterday for a quick night out. Beautiful landscape, unexpected place. Calm. Peace and relaxation. We went with a gift box and it was worth it!! Recommended for those who want to escape the city and immerse themselves in silence without going too far

Comfortable and clean rooms, great breakfast buffet in a room with magnificent views of the vines. Position very close to the belvedere with 360 ° panorama. Very nice managers. Very competitive price. Parking in front of the hotel.

Cons:

Oh lord, where should we start.

* Internet does not work! They say they have free wireless internet but that is simply not true. It´s free alright but it didn't work. We told the reception about this several times but they just shrugged their shoulders.

* Room not cleaned properly. Piles of dust under the bed.

* Beds and pillows were extremely uncomfortable. It felt like they haven't been replaced for 20-30 years or so.

* Tiny rooms

* Heating was not working properly. Room was cold.

* No real lobby in the hotel - just a few chairs next to the reception. Not cosy at all for a late drink or even a coffee.

* Noisy place as you can hear people running in the stairs and in the kitchen even if you stay on one of the higher floors.

* The staff is not exactly rude but they are absent and not friendly either (with the exception of old man who seemed to be the owner).

* The plates for breakfast were not clean.

Pros:

* Fantastic views from the hotel and our room. It´s 5 out of 5. Vineyards and mountains everywhere.

* Breakfast, although limited, was above expectation. Boiled eggs, ham, jam and yogurt. Poor coffee and bred though.

* Easy parking just outside the hotel entrance

* Bath room is ok.

* Dinner in the restaurant was pretty good. You can tell they have a real chef.

All in all, this is a place that you should avoid at all costs if you're not an absolute sucker for splendid views and pretty much don't care about anything else. If you have to be in the area and are on a very tight budget, this could also be a place for you. Alice Bel Colle is a rundown tiny village that seems like a ghost town but is still interesting due to the old church and the architecture. The wine bar on the main square turns into a hot spot once in a while with large crowds of party people popping up from nowhere.

If you're into staying in the Piemonte wine region, I strongly recommend that you stay closer to the La Morra/Barolo/Serralunga area closer to Alba. It is much much nicer and the food is much much better although generally a bit more expensive.

We chose Belvedere because it is close to Acqui Terme (beautiful place and great thermal facilities) and the positive reviews. We were very disappointed. The hotel is rather a 2,5 stars and the rooms are dated.

Rooms - You could feel the springs in the mattress, the toiletries were below standard, the room wasn't really clean (spider nets, a lot of dust under the bed, we had to kick out two spiders), there was nothing in the mini bar. We perceived some sense of superficiality which should not be the case for a 3-star.

Breakfast - ok, breakfast in italy is not the main asset for hotels. however this was really not up to standard: old bread, only two sorts of cereals, an old multi function coffee/tea maker (please note: if you want proper, i would say normal, coffee you need to pay extra), one type of processed cheese and ham, some fruit. what is interesting is that everything was exactly counted. So if yAou wanted an extra croissant you had to go the bar. You have assigned seats which is not practical at all. Again, big sense of superficilaity - i.e. they know they are the only hotel in the surrounding, so why bother improving....

pool - just disappointing. small. the view is great from there. We couldnt enjoy it as it did not inspire trust re cleanliness.

I dont understand why this hotel is so well reviewed. The staff were nice, but this is normal in Italy.

i will not come back to Belvedere.

This was our third time staying at the hotel for 5 nights. Was given a room in the old part of the hotel above the bar. Room was tiny, floor dirty, and everything extremely dusty. Bathroom was also tiny and in desperate need of repair. Breakfast is the same simple fare. Found it a bit amusing that a burnt apricot tart that was not fit for consumption was placed on the breakfast table for several days. Wonder who nibbled at it? LOL I'm not saying I will never come back here again but I think it might be worth checking out other venues.

This is a pleasant hotel in a spectacular location.To get the best of this ask for a room with a view. we were travelling with a large group and it would seem that the rooms vary greatly some even have balconies.Our room was small with a tiny bathroom and only a view a yard and function dining room.Our air condiitioning was very noisy but at least we had it as some rooms did not and it was very hot.Breakfast was very good largely continental style but home baking and home made preserves.The view in the breakfast room was spectacular.The manager was helpful despite speaking no English and we had limited Italian.We spent 2 nights here and had set dinner on one of these ,it was substantial 6 courses very tasty but we needed to go for a walk afterwards. All of the staff were very pleasant and friendly despite our language difficulties.As we were travelling by coach and it couldn't get up to the hotel the manager arranged to collect those with mobility difficulties and transport them in his own car.
