A special birthday holiday to Thailand. All you want is a special experience of food, friendliness and a professional team to help you achieve that. If you’re planning on visiting the Karon Beach area of Phuket, make Mandarava a serious consideration. I chose this hotel from Tripadvisor reviews. They weren’t wrong. Anything I’d wished was different? Honestly, no. Very minor niggle with a noisy room A/C but it worked well and didn’t disturb sleep. The beds we’re very comfortable and the room a delight to stay in with resort pools and views excellent. Thank you Mandarava team. Well done.

The hotel has far exceeded our expectations, the staff have been extremely helpful, polite and professional at all times. The accommodation is exceptional we had room 6109 with a swim up room. Well worth the extra if you can afford it. The food has been some of the best in Thailand. We’ve been here 37 days backpacking and nothing has come close to it. Outstanding. The whole complex is relaxing and peaceful but is also easy to get to the local town. Gardens and surroundings are beautiful with great views out to sea. We booked via TUI in the UK and have to note that their website really doesn’t do this place justice. A real must place to stay.

We received a warm welcome and that is the only positive. Our ‘room’ was at the back of the resort and very isolated, up steep hills and then 3 flights of concrete steps. We asked to see a refurbed room as ours was outdated, unclean and felt unsafe as the blinds did not cover the window and the curtains felt dirty. The staff became rude and said we just wanted an upgrade which we did not. They told us to contact our agent who advised we could get a refund if we left the resort within 12 hours. We left immediately however the resort kept the money and honestly the service we experienced was terrible. If you like hiking around a large resort and don’t mind what service you receive then this is for you!

Dear Khun Zara M, Thank you for your experiences shared. Absolutely it is an ashame for not being able to serve you upto your expectations same as others. Coin have two sides and Please may I take this opportunity to clarify to all READER/Audiences here in order for all to get an idea what was happen and why it was so much disappoint both of you to review two consecutive 1/5 within a week. I do understand you may not study details of Mandarava carefully before making decision to reserve a non refundable accommodation through your bookng source and when arrive it is not what you expected located uphill, 700 meters away from karon beach and a feeling of dated/old facilities in the room. First room assigned is an upgrade however it seems not suit with your desired of no privacy due to a fact a design of room blind curtain. toilet paper is not allow to flush in the bowl etc. Your decision to immediate changing the hotel has been raised with the reception team and we have no problems by asking you to please contact your booking source to contact the hotel to modify booking. This is not the first case since 10 years in operations and most of the customers do not reluctant to do and hotel support for an early check out with a refund. Mandarava's philosophy of doing business is a comfortable and happiness of customers much more than money. Your case you do not help to contact and hotel as a third party end up in letting you leave without refund as no where hotel know to contact on behalf of you. Instead of finding solutions together to get an unused night back which we will be more than happy to consider/support you choose the way to share we are not fair instead. If we talk to each other on that day and give a chance to each other for sure incident will end up peacefully. I do belived every problems come with solutions and opportunity it is only depend on how we like to choose and do it. Please contact me at rm@mandaravaresort.com if I can be of any assistance. I'm sorry but really not happy as a human being and Mandarava resort as one organisation, we will never taking any advantage of others. Mistake can happen and we should learn from them to avoid a repeat in the future, learn how to forgive as that is the only way to calm you down and have much more energy to enjoy rest of all lifes. We were not 100%sure before I booked this hotel, whether should we be closer to the beach or not? I was wrong! There is so much to love about this hotel. Staff was great that included the communication online prior to arrival. The location was on the hill and it took about 10mins to walk from the beach and the busy town centre which was fine for us. The room was very well designed, private, spacious and very green just like advertised. There are 5 Swimming pools located around the resort and we went to 3 of them...just fantastic! Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Happy hours was excellent...it was half price and the drinks were refreshing... we would definitely go back there again and again

We went for our Honeymoon ang get into the Heaven Garden! What we like the most? * Green territory - pure and nature beauty on every step5 * Facilities - Restaurant, bars, gym, Spa, swimming pools - everything what you need * Friendly atmosphere * Patient attitude from personel * Tasty food and variaty of beverages * Clean and safe The Hotel is located on the hill, so be ready, that you May have to go hiking sometimes, it is ok for us, and it was a part of the great journey.

Fantastic resort, really well designed and laid out. We had a swim up room which I highly recommend as you are then close to everything. The resort is on an incline which is no problem for us, but be mindful if you struggle with walking up / down hills / steps as lots around the resort and also to / from the beach. However there is also a free shuttle bus to the local beach which you can use if needed. Highly recommend.

My wife and I are in our mid thirties and we went with a couple that are the same age. We were looking for a hotel with great pools, something close to the beach, and had a pool bar. This was my wife’s and I second time at Mandarava. We got everything we wanted and more. We got the room that you can walk right out into the Coconut pool. It was absolutely stunning and we would totally do it again and again. The hotel staff was extremely kind and always showed extreme appreciation for their guests. We loved their warm hellos when we walked by the front desk. My wife rolled and broke her ankle at a bar and they bent over backwards to continue to check on us and bring us ice for her ankle. We didn’t find out it was broke till we got home several days later, their help with bringing ice helped her a lot. Make sure you get the breakfast package, you will not be disappointed. The breakfast options are unlimited, the view from the breakfast bar is nice, and it’s always nice to start your day with breakfast from home. We had the best time, and so did our friends, and we attribute most of that to Mandarava hotel staff.…

Amazing resort, very clean, trees and plants everywhere, several pools all with bars with very fair priced drinks during happy hour. 2 high quality restaurants with choices between western food and Thai. Free shuttles in the morning to go to the beach and free shuttles back in the afternoon. All of the staff are extremely polite and helpful. I highly recommend booking a swim up room
