Booked a holiday for Lyon and after reading the reviews for this hotel I thought it would be a suitable stay however, i was wrong. I booked for a 7 night stay, but after the 5th night I had enough and booked elsewhere in the centre of Lyon for the remaining 2 nights. The staff were not helpful and highly rude whenever we had any queries. Our room was not re supplied once with clean towels, toilet roll, soaps, coffees etc. We had to ask for all of these everyday (which they were reluctant to give us) and this is unacceptable when paying over £100 per night. Due to them not cleaning the room or emptying the bins at all, we moved all our stuff to another room - however this room had a broken shower. After this, we tried to make a complaint and one of the members of staff named Lena laughed at us when we asked to speak to the manager and started speaking french to another member of staff and laughing again. We then decided to leave and they tried to make us pay for the full 7 nights and refused to give us a honest discount for the appalling stay - which is a disgrace. I would not recommend this to anyone staying over 1 night as they don’t care about your welfare, and I will never go back again. Overall Cons: 1. Majority of staff towards English are rude and unhelpful 2. No clean supplies throughout the week 3. Broken shower and broken fridge. 4. Overpriced 5. Failed to meet the basic needs of a consumer. Pros: 1. Ok location if you have a car, but I would recommend having your dinner in the city centre rather than near the hotel. In summary the hotel was a huge disappointment, however I spent most of my time exploring Lyon throughout the day so luckily I didn’t spend my time in the hotel.…
I stayed overnight here between dropping my rental car at Lyon airport (LYS) in the evening and flying from LYS next morning. This hotel came up when I searched for an Accord hotel near LYS and it has a week-day for-pay shuttle service. (It's a 15-minute drive in good traffic.) When I arrived at the hotel it was deserted. No one. No music, Nothing. I rang the bell at reception several times but it took 10 minutes for someone to arrive and check me in. By the time he arrived, there were three of us waiting. I had been advised by e-mail that the hotel restaurant was closed that night and I asked for options. I was told there was a restaurant 5 minutes away by car (I didn't didn't have one), McDonald's 100m away, or a cold plate at the bar. It was raining hard so I had the cold plate (which was quite good) with my complimentary glass of wine. The room was very comfortable and I slept well. I had asked for a taxi to be ordered for 0830 next morning, but when I went to the lobby at 0820 it had not been ordered. t was Sunday morning and several taxi companies could not provide a car. I eventually made it to LYS in time for my flight but this was far from my best Mercure experience.…
Very nice customer service did not hv problem to talk in english rooms are ok standard to the stars Breakfast was on time very good and intercontinental I was pretty happy for this short stay just one night
The hotel matches the standards of the Accord network. A good mark for the restaurant where we had dinner: “tartelette de brocolis et gambas flambées”, “tartare de boeuf”, “dos de cabillaud au lait de coco”, “café gourmand”. Everything fine with only some reservation towards the “tournedos de rumsteck Montana” which requested some chewing. On the wine list, most of the “reds” are overpriced. At reasonable price, choose the “Côtes du Rhône” or the “Côtes du Roussilon”. Also, to notice that the bar offers a selection of beers locally brewed although it is still regrettable that no alcohol-free beer is available.
The lobby area is very nice and clean with lots of space to work with a nice selection of drinks. They did try and put me into a room with two single beds despite paying for a double but eventually they did move me. They had turned the aircon off in the rooms which made them stuffy during the day. The room was very clean and modern. The dinner at the hotel was OK, nothing exceptional. Breakfast was very nice with plenty of food available.
