Vaqueria Cantaelgallo, is a very special oasis!, it combines exquisite taste with natural, rustic beauty. Its has been designed with one eye on respecting the natural order of the land and one eye on upcycling original pieces to give them a new lease of life. For instances the patio might be built arround an ancient Olive tree with a bean across the pillars to create a "window". It also combines luxury with a warm, inviting atmosphere. The views, over the Olive grove and to the mountains, are unparelleled and truly inspiring. There are litle details every wherethat will stop in your tracks. It stylish and elegant and you feel pampered and relaxed. Its as if on interior decorator has invited you to enjoy their inovative and wonderfully creative reworking of on original Spanish Villa and you leave full of ideas and excited to try stop of upcycling at home. Our welcome makes you feel at home.

This is one of those places I want to tell everyone about but also want to keep secret! The cottage was cute, comfortable and cosy, the pool was fabulous for daytime cooling off and midnight swims and the food (homegrown/local/homemade) was high end restaurant quality. Peaceful, beautiful, perfect. Oh and the resident donkey was adorable!

Go and explore beautiful Extramedura while staying at this Magical place ❤️! All the rooms are beautiful decorated, Every detail is thought of. It’s near the town Jaraíz de la Vera, but also in the middle of nature. You can taste their three types of figue, tomatos, peaches, apples... We had a beautiful ‘livingroom’ outside our room and a private swimmingpool😻🥂 Furthermore, the owners are Very sweet and helpful people! We are very thankful for meeting them! So go and book a room and meet them, Extramedura, their dogs and the donkey 💃🏻

Beautiful place within a fantastic finca, full of cherry and olives trees. We stayed with our 3 teenagers in the big rural house with our own pool. Amazing breakfast with local products and dinner has been served on our request with typical local dishes. From the first to the last day service, cleaning and personal attention has been excellent by the owner Soledad and her team (Juan Carlos and Puri).

La Vaqueria Cantaelgallo is a hidden gem in a truly beautiful setting where we had the pleasure of staying for 3 nights. Soledad and her team were very welcoming and extremely attentive throughout our stay and Soledad was always ready to give suggestions for day trips in the area and restaurant suggestions. The stone cottage was shabby chic, beautifully furnished and contained everything one would need. We were welcomed by a roaring fire in our cottage on our first evening followed by a lovely evening meal in the main house. Take a gin & tonic on the terrace and feast your eyes on the lovely views of olive trees, mountains, Marcelino (the donkey) and listen to the chorus of birds and of course, the roosters!. We felt relaxed straight away and 3 nights was not enough! Great to find somewhere that welcomes dogs so it was a full family holiday with the kids (a dog) running wild in the olive grove. It was so good we have booked to go back for 4 nights in July. Highly recommended.

We spent four beautiful sunny days at the Vaqueria in April and loved everything about it; the surroundings, the food, the attentions of our hostess Soledad, her husband and her staff. My kids particularly enjoyed the company of Marcelino the donkey and even our schnauzer Bobby made friends. The cottage (where we stayed), main barn area and gardens are designed with care and an eye for combining rustic, natural and modern and the food was fresh and very good. In fact we ended up eating there every evening after our days of hiking around Extramadura - we just wanted to spend as much time there as possible and soak in the peaceful vibes after a day out. Can't recommend it enough - we will surely be back.

We stayed in the very quaint stone cottage in Feb and Oct 2016. Extremely quiet and relaxing. Perfect for the two of us to enjoy a retreat. The outdoor covered seating area looks out into the olive grove complete with roaming chickens, donkey and resident azure-winged magpies. The grounds are extensive for a good stroll including a small lake and wooded area. On the chilly mornings the wood burning stove quickly warmed up the cottage. Extremely comfortable and very stylish in a rustic way - shabby chic they call it. Soledad has a fabulous eye for interior design. Breakfast in the beautifully designed main house is great. Soledad is extremely welcoming. We found it so relaxing and peaceful that we went back. Town is only 5 mins by car and there are lots of nearby unspoilt townsand villages to explore. The Manfrague National Park is only 30 mins away and is a great place to walk and watch the vultures and eagles.

A beautiful location in an olive grove. Soledad, a most attentive and generous hostess. Well located for the National Park and a great place for bird watchers. A part of Spain I did not know but would hope to visit again. The rooms are large and comfortable and the food very good. Look out for the Azure Winged Magpies and the cuckoos in May.

We stayed in Stone Cottage which is very comfortable and well equipped. The weather was a bit cold when we were there but there is a big log burner which makes the cottage very cozy. There is a lovely seating area outside with views over the gardens and to the mountains. Soledad is very welcoming and helpful and we felt very much at home. Breakfast was good and we also had dinner which was delicious. Soledad knows the area and gives excellent advice on places to visit. Free Wifi is available in the main room of the house.

A small country hotel that gets everything right. Beautiful setting, good food, friendly service, fine taste. Out of the way, no crowds, everything is beautiful, and no noise but the sounds of the crickets, frogs and roosters. Idyllic.
