Best place we've ever stayed at! The hosts are so friendly and welcoming. Spotless clean room and en suite with beautiful toiletries. The breakfast was a surprise, fresh and healthy. The sun streamed into the lounge area in the morning that had been warmed by a lovely log heater the previous evening.

Set in a beautiful garden this lodge provides great comfort, cleanliness and all you could ever want for a delightful break. Breakfast could not be bettered. Eating out in the evening was fun although booking was advisable A short drive away there were a few places that served great meals. For fun try the Fat Tui.

The place , surroundings and ambience and the hosts are all great. The breakfast is also excellent with plenty of fruit and cereals . The rooms however have no air conditioning and those on the western side are exposed to the afternoon sun making them uncomfortable on warm afternoons or evenings until everything cools down. The owners are looking into...

Great place to stay. My wife and I stayed one night and will definitely be back. The room was warm, spacious and clean. The communal lounge and kitchen are really great as was the breakfast. The hosts really friendly and the location is amazing.

The Split Apple B&B isn't what I'd call "homey" -- it's very stark in a "Scandinavian" sort of way. However, that look suits it fine, and as such, it's still a very comfortable, welcoming place to stay. We were there two nights during our 21-day trip to New Zealand. Our room had a tremendous view of the extremely well-kept garden...

We returned to Split Apple Lodge for 5 nights. We had booked a mountain view room and were upgraded into a sea view room as it was supposed to get quite hot during our stay, as Bert said, and the temperature in mountain view rooms rise even higher than in sea view rooms. Loved the room (No.1), lot of space,...

The elevated location is amazing with 360 degree stunning views. The property stands alone and it's a really peaceful setting. The accommodation is also pretty special: modern, immaculate with lots of attention to detail. There is a huge open-plan dining room/kitchen/lounge for guests with tea and coffee making facilities and a large fridge for guests to use. The sea view...

We stayed for 2 nights and loved everything. Perfect location between Marahau and Kaiteriteri. The hosts were super friendly and gave us beach towels and bug repellent for sandfly to borrow. We had a huge, quiet room with a beautiful view of the ocean and a big porch to sit out on to watch the amazing sunrise and sunsets.
