I popped into this pub/restaurant after a round of golf, I was hungry and ready for a good pint of real ale. I indulged in ordering a pint of Abbots ale which was perfect. I ordered the chicken and liver pate to start and the Sea Bass salad, very tasty they were too. I would recommend a visit to this...

I think we went of a bad day - a large party ahead of us arrived late and so everything goy delayed. Having been told there was a garden to eat in and it was suitable for elderly / infirm parents it transpired that the cobbles were a real issue for my dad.

Fabulous location and an easy walk to the centre of Salisbury - perfect for sightseeing. Food is typical pub food well presented in a lovely little restaurant or outside in the gardens - An excellent breakfast is also served Our room was a spacious twin which although it did not look over the river and mill pond did not matter...

Walked out to the pub from Salisbury & stopped for a drink. £12 for a pint of ale & a g&t although it was a double. We thought this was expensive but I guess you pay for the location. They do have a big beer garden though.

This was one of the quirkiest yet nicest small hotels we have ever stayed and we have previously left a glowing review hence our looking forward greatly to visiting The Old Mill Hotel again, but what a disaster it turned out to be this time. Although we did not know it sadly had changed hands since our last visit and...

This "quaint" hotel is across the water meadows from the City and is a 15 minute walk into the City. It is what it says, an old mill, sadly some of the interior such as Room 10 and the bed are also old. Internally it needs a face lift and the room only had one bedside light and the ceiling...

This a delightful hotel situated in a beautiful, Constable setting. The food was delicious but, sadly, the main menu seemed to not be available outside in the garden. This was disappointing because the indoor menu was quite extensive, whereas the outdoor menu seemed to be more of a franchise selling BBQ food. We would have preferred to eat outside but...

David C, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback, and I am glad that the food you enjoyed was delicious! In regards to the menu, this is indeed the case. I apologise that this was not something that worked for you. In the garden, we have an outdoor kitchen that caters for that area. With...

We went on recommendation of friends, his comment what wonderful beers, he was right! The bedrooms were very clean, but try and book other than the top floor, it`s fun with two bad knees! The restaurant was excellent with very good service. A nice walk to Salisbury Cathedral. Will try and go again. DM

Just back from a few nights stay at the Old Mill. Great place for Salisbury which is only 10 mins walk away along the town path. We were met by very friendly staff, the room we had was a reasonable size forvyhe two of us and, overall there was a nice atmosphere about the place.

Came in for a family birthday as I've been several times before and know the pub is very nice. The food was excellent and our waiter Luke made sure we had everything we needed and was very friendly. Definitely will be coming back again with family or friends in the future.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Old Mill Hotel is a 15th century building with features dating back to 1250. From its early ecclesiastical beginnings, it was transformed in the 16th century to a paper mill. The hotel is in the most tranquil location of Harnham Meadows. However, the shopping and tourist district of Salisbury City centre is a mere 10 minute walk. The paved footpath takes you through the meadows which boast the fantastic view of the Cathedral that was voted 'Best View in Britain' in a Country Life poll. It was also made famous in John Constable's classic painting 'Salisbury Cathedral'. (This camera shot alone will make your visit worthwhile.) The hotel is Grade 1 listed in parts and stands in a most peaceful and stunning location above 3 mill runs off of the River Nadder. This really is a countryside escape, just a stone's throw from the ancient city. Our traditional old English bar with low beams, stone floors and open fires, is a step back in time. A little piece of old England that has been preserved for your enjoyment. You can sample the best cask ales, a great selection of wine and food and chat to the locals whilst enjoying the best welcome and hospitality that Wiltshire has to offer. The restaurant is set in the oldest part of the hotel and sits above a mill run which is visible through a viewing panel. The ever present hum of the rushing waters and the large open fireplace, make it one of the best places to enjoy perfectly English food that's been freshly prepared by our chefs for your pleasure. When the weather permits, our restaurant and bar may be outdone by our fantastic garden setting for the best place to enjoy a cool beer, a glass of wine or a great meal. We have 11 en-suite bedrooms set over 3 floors. (No lift available, however, we will of course help you with your bags if needed.) The historic staircase leads you up to the narrow corridors of the newer part of the building, a mere 300 years old. We are sure you will find the views from all our bedrooms are impressive, whether it's the Harnham hills, the River Nadder or over our fabulous gardens set on either side of the mill run, where every seat has a waterside view! The hotel bar, restaurant and bedrooms are undergoing refurbishment during Autumn 2014 and the garden will be completed in March 2015. This is being done with the maximum respect for our present hotel, bar and restaurant visitors and will enhance this already great experience. ... more   less
