'Home away from home' would definitely describe my experience with this hotel (as I've visited a few times over the past year). The rooms are clean and the beds are extremely comfortable and cozy. The kitchen has all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. Finally....the VIEW. The view from the hotel is mesmerizing and for all the surfers out...

Planned a company retreat to Santa Catalina and stayed in this hotel. It was awesome, we had a blast. The hotel sits on a cliff overlooking Santa Catalina's Point and it is only a minute away from the center of town where there are convenience stores and restaurants. The hotel has a shared kitchen and even a BBQ grill. Found...

I stayed for three nights in this wonderful cliffside inn with an incredible view and great sighting of the waves. The hosts, Ricardo and Ingunn, do everything inside their reach to make us feel comfortable and to enjoy our stay to the fullest. The suite I stayed in was really nice, the beds and rooms were really comfortable and clean...

Thank you Luis. We use this opportunity to warn travelers about some of the stories posted below. Our keeper is a trusted person and has spare keys to all the rooms. We open 10 years ago. Nothing has ever been lost or stolen. We have only 42 reviews after 10 years because we don't pressure guest for reviews. We take...

My friend and I booked for 2 nights. The very first night a person sneaked into our room at 3 am while we were sleeping. We woke up, faced the person who was under an altered state of mind (alcohol and/or drugs), and found out it was one the hotel's workers. We left as soon as there was morning light....

This people keep posting the same story over and over again. They did not sign the Voucher nor did they signed the registration form. They did not want to pay from the start and now it is clear to me they where sent by my neighboor who I hear is having problems paying his bank. If that hotel next to...

I stayed at On the Reef for a week, and found Ricardo and his wife to be wonderful hosts. They had breakfast for us in the morning, and answered all my questions about where to surf nearby, how to get there, and best places to eat, rent a board, etc. They even made us a homemade meal one night The...

Had the pleasure of staying On The Reef recently and really enjoyed it. Catalina reminded me of Fernando de Noronha, Brasil which is full of Posadas, On the Reef is probably one of the best posadas in Santa Catalina. Accommodations are confortable, but far from luxurious, we had a spacious clean room with a bunk bed and a king size...

In reading the other reviews, I found one highly critical of the lack of hospitality. The experience I and my girlfriend had was just the opposite. Ricardo and his charming wife could not have done more to look after us and make sure we enjoyed not only their remarkable inn but also the other attractions of this unique corner of...

I spent a very beautiful, relaxing and peaceful weekend in this place. The view is perfect, the room (#2) is fine and clean, beach towels available, hot water when I needed. Ricardo, the owner is very friendly, full of suggestions and tips how to spend a good vacation, where to go to try the best food. He took me for...

Visited in August 2014 and had an excellent trip. This is the closest spot to stay to surf the main break. The accommodation was very clean and all amenities worked with now problems, and I felt it was good value for money. The views are unreal and after a big session you can chill out on the deck and watch...

Thanks Ricardito - we had an amazing trip. The place was in the best spot for access out to La Punta break with amazing views, a cool breeze and plenty of hammocks to relax in. The rooms are great with AC, cable, nice bathrooms and hot water. Ricardito was a great host and showed us around town and pointed out...

Our ocean front suites are the only rooms of their kind in Catalina. On The Reef is right in front of the Point. We are right at the end of the famous reef at the best possible location. 24 hour security at the gate and a guests only policy keeps our property very quiet and private.
