Although the address mentions Nontron it is in fact 10kms north, about 1.5km north of Augignac on the road to Piégut-Pluviers. Set well off the main road it has no traffic sounds, impressive for a motel. The room size was adequate & clean. A good sized pool on one side of the restaurant looked tempting but the temperatures were sadly on the cool side. Standard French breakfast but generous. We ate only on the first night & opted for a mixed kebab meats with a wonderfully hot Harrissa sauce. Not what one expects in the Dordogne but it made a very welcome change from fois gras & rich sauces. Run by a friendly family it is obviously family friendly too. After a lot of time spent in a car a walk in pristine countryside every evening was a joy, forest & natural meadow abound. Bird song & frogs croaking were the only sounds. Piégut-Pluviers is a few minute’s drive to the north is pretty & has an interesting fortress tower that was once besieged by Richard Coeur de Lion no less. This is an ideal stop for anyone who wants peace & quiet, even if only for one night. Competitive prices. Recommended.

We recently moved to the area and needed a small hotel to stay in while visit the property we were about to purchase.
Les Coursaux is situated just outside the village of Augignac.
There are lots of things of interest in the area including pretty villages, interesting markets and wonderful walks and cycling routes. I
The hotel is comfortable, although the rooms are quite small they are spotlessly clean. The pool area is sheltered and is next to the restaurant and meals are served next to the pool.
The hotel is family run and the atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly The food is simple but excellent. The breakfast is continental but the amount served is far more than we have ever had in a similar small hotel!
We stayed twice and would recommend Les Coursauz as an excellent base to explore this area of the Perigord Parc Naturel.

Although we only stayed one night, we found Julianne and Bruno to be most welcoming. The restaurant menu you was small but the food cooked to perfection. I wouldn't hesitate to stop again while we are in the area searching for our ideal property.

We arrived at 13.00 and rang the doorbell and waited for 10minutes. We were two families with 3 children and it was 30 degrees in the sun. Nobody opened the door and we decided to let the kids dip their feet in the pool after waiting for 20 minutes for someone to come and welcome us. They didnt even get their socks of before the woman who owned the hotel came running out, yelling. We tried to explain, but she showed no signs of wanting to listen. The kids got scared. She said we were not welcome until 5 o’clock. We offered to pay for the room, to find another place but she didnt want our money until 5 o’clock. We left and never came back. Never had such a bad experience in my whole life

To reply to this guest, the opening time of the hotel is 5pm. The booking was taken by somebody else who knew that the hotel opens at 5pm therefore if you want to get your key before the only thing you have to do is to contact the hotel before to make sure there is somone there as we are not Always available on the site as we were not this famous day even present on the site. Without anybody they decided to jump the little wall and go to the swimming pool without any autorisation , especially with children. that is still a private place. And we are waiting for others guests to be more respectful of the privacy.

Found the rooms to be small (approx 9 foot sq) but adequate and very clean, all with air conditioning and a small tv (only French channels) No kettle or hairdryer, so remember to take your own!
The swimming pool was a lovely bonus, very clean and inviting in the heat, but unfortunately it was covered and locked quite early in the evening, and not opened until well after breakfast so too late to have an early morning dip. They had provided a table and 2 chairs outside each room and there were seating areas around the pool. There were also baskets of flowers dotted around which was a nice touch.
The breakfast was more than adequate and the coffee great...my only concern was the smell wafting from the cat litter tray in the restaurant and the fish tank which was in such a state - green / black I felt so sorry for those poor liitle fish ...Please someone tell me they have been cleaned?
Taking all this into account it was a great holiday and the motel was well situated for days out.
