Just returned from two nights in this gorgeous b&b. Great location, 3 minute stroll to a very nice sea front pub. The room had everything we wanted, world of interior magazines for me and small music centre for him!
The bed was very comfortable and good quality cotton bedding.

The house is tastefully decorated with beautiful & interesting pieces from around the world and a warm log burner greeted us on arrival which added to the homely and relaxed feel of the house.

Penny was very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed.

Morning breakfast was taken in the Georgian conservatory which had beautiful potted lemon trees. The food was all high quality produce and the homemade bread was a nice touch.

As always I would book directly with the owner, you won’t be disappointed.

We stayed 2 nights and could easily have stayed much longer. Penny made us very welcome from the moment we arrived until the time we left.

The bed was one of the best, most comfortable beds I have slept on, when away from home (and I have slept in many !) The room decor was lovely.

Breakfast was superb in quality and quantity.

Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Penny for being such a great host and giving us the much needed break in peace and quiet and comfort.

We had a fantastic time. Penny was very welcoming and the breakfasts were to die for. All home cooked with lovely fresh ingredients. Nothing was skimped and nothing too much trouble.

The room was very comfortable itself.

Great little B and B in Appledore only a short walk from the sea front.

Would recommend booking meals out. Try the Flame Factory. Best pizza ever!

I've just spent three nights at Torridge House B&B and very much enjoyed my stay. It's centrally located in Appledore - just one minute's walk to the front - in a wonderful Georgian House. Everything worked well with good communication with the owner, Penny. The bed was comfortable, breakfast was excellent quality with a good range on offer and served in the conservatory. Lovely, large informal garden at the back of the house. Penny was friendly, helpful and good advice about the local area. A great place to stay.

Stayed here for 3 nights whilst visiting family and friends and we had the most wonderful stay. The bird room was so nice and clean with hand painted trees and birds on the wall with beautiful antique furniture, there was even an iPod dock which you don't see in the major hotels! Penny couldn't have been more helpful, she was always on hand and very friendly and welcoming and cooked one of the most amazing breakfasts. In fact the best full English I've ever had using home made bread, marmalades, locally sourced ingredients etc, we will defiantly come back again here when we're in Appledore, since this hotel is perfectly located for the local shops and around 5 minutes walk downhill to the beach, cafes and restaurants. I can't even find a bad thing to say about out entire stay, even the weather was good (for February)!

We decided to have a last minute random trip to Devon the next day and stay the night. We searched for several places to stay and found this lovely B&B. We booked it, paid and had confirmation of our booking. Set off, on our 4.5hr drive down.

Arrived and parked the car in the car park only to get a phone call to inform us that Torridge house b&B had cancelled our booking. When we questioned why this was, our booking agent was told because we had booked for 1 night only, and that was unacceptable. Apparently Torridge house B&B told our booking agent that they have a minimum stay of 2 nights. There was nothing mentioned on any website about a minimum of 2 nights stay, and even the booking agent was shocked at this B&Bs attitude.

Needless to stay this but a right downer on our little break away. We then had to spend the next hour in a car park looking for alternative accommodation for that night.

Even when we checked other websites it was still being allowed to just book the one night here on the day we visited. I won't comment on why i think they cancelled our reservation at the very last night.

Absolutely disgusting behaviour. Luckily our booking agent was very apologetic about what had happened and found us some nice accommodation for the night,

Thank you Penny for a lovely stay at Torridge House. What more could anyone want, nice comfortable beds, clean (new) en suite and a breakfast to die for. We parked for free (always a bonus) just at the end of the street and didn't move our car the whole time we were there.
We hope to come again soon

We could not have had a more friendly welcome from Penny at Torridge House. The room was very comfortable and quiet, and breakfast exceeded all expectation. we sat around a lovely farmhouse table with the other guests and enjoyed what can only be described as a family meal.; we could have stayed chatting all morning. The food was locally sourced with eggs from Penny's hens. We are already planning our next visit.

We have just returned from a three day stay in Appledore, we stayed at the Torridge House B&B and I have to write about it. It's an impressive house full with character and creative furniture, its actually beautiful but incredibly homely and cosy.
Penny is a true star, she was very helpful, cooks a brilliant breakfast and has a fantastic garden. She was the perfect host and we had an amazing time.
