This is only the 9th review on this property and there are quite a mixture below, but stretching back over quiet a while. I came here originally for 3 nights, but stayed for 6. Was looking for a relaxing time in saquarima before the carnival in rio but was left with a nasty surprise. Firstly this is not a hostel it is a guest house. The owner who lives on the property wasn't friendly and didn't smile once for our whole stay (4days)- very unwelcoming. Couldn't relax here at all as there was so... More

The usual small kitchen is fairly clean, and there is free drinking water and lots of dvds, books, games etc. It feels v homely. The town was... More

After Rio carnival this was a perfect choice to chill out and wind down. The rooms are fairly simple, beds and fan, no aircon. The place is basically, Jose the owner's home. Again all the ameneties are simple but they do work. On the website it does say that there is cable TV but not while we were there, mind... More
