One of the best mountain biking holidays we have been on. Well organised with all needs met, knowledgable guides and it was great that hotel owner, Hazel, rode with us. There were lots of special surprises like the visit to the outdoor natural hot spa after a great days riding. Lovely hotel in a beautiful location with panoramic views of...

I was part of a mixed group of 10 that were going on a mountain biking holiday. Hazel and Ian did a great job making this a very enjoyable & memorable holiday. The hotel was clean & tidy with good views of the surrounding mountains. The rooms were a good size and the swimming pool was a great place to...

My wife and I spent a magical 10 days at the hotel. We went to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday and boy did we pick the right hotel. Hazel made our stay so memorable sorting out a taxi to go to Greece for my wife's birthday and when we returned she had a birthday cake, presents and bubbly waiting for...

I stayed with a friend at The Pirila for a week walking around the Pirin and Rilla national parks . Hazel really knows her stuff ! Although we were her only two guests that week, she put together a really good walking programme and was able to alter it to whatever suited us. She's the perfect host, never a dull...

We thoroughly enjoyed a walking holiday at the Pirila Hotel. Hazel is a first class hostess and escorted us on our walks (we would never find the routes otherwise). The walking was interesting and varied taking us into the valleys around the hotel and up into the beautiful mountains nearby. The staff at the hotel are extremely friendly and the...

From the pick up at Sofia Airport Hazel and Ian were superb hosts. The Hotel is in a rural village, the rooms comfortable with plenty of hot water, ours had a remarkable view to the Pirin Mountains. In the evenings local Bulgarian meals were served, local wines too. The walks were well led and varied with some vistas not seen...

I can't speak too highly of this wonderful hotel. From the moment we were met at Sophia airport to the time we sadly had to leave it was a wonderful experience. Hazel, the owner and her staff are extremely friendly. She is English-speaking (ex-pat) and was a perfect and dedicated host. The Mountain-leader qualified guide was entertaining and knowledgeable and...

A group of 11 ramblers from Derbyshire recently spent a week with Hazel in this wonderful setting. The rooms were very good with en-suite facilities and the view from the balcony towards the Pirila and Vihren mountains was stunning. Hazel and her team provided for all including airport transfers, led walks, packed lunches, inclusive free bar and excursions to the...
