Close to the historic Amber fort is " Khas Bagh " a farm retreat tucked away in the Aravali hills. A stone's throw from the 12th century Amer Fort, Khas Bagh is built on the lines of a medieval style haveli with open courtyards, verandahs with arches and intricately carved stone pillars and jaalis, all hand craft by local craftsmen. Eighteen luxuriously appointed rooms with antique furniture, a pool and a polo lounge with black and white family photographs all add to providing an authentic bespoke Rajput stately home-stay experience.

Khas Bagh hotel earns accolades from guests for its well-preserved amenities such as the inviting pool and lush gardens, all accentuated by heritage decor, even as a few visitors mention occasional Wi-Fi and cleanliness lapses. The spacious rooms, replete with heritage charm and thoughtful furnishings, are often lauded for their cleanliness, adding to the hotel's tranquil ambiance. While the serene environment is universally appreciated, the exemplary service provided by the warm and friendly staff stands out, despite isolated remarks about professionalism. Although most guests consider the hotel a fine blend of tradition and opulence with delectable cuisine, some caution against unforeseen charges.

Khas Bagh was recommended by a friend and I'm so glad we decided to visit. Just a few hours drive from Delhi, it's a charming and spacious haveli that has lots of quaint details such as black and white family photos, paintings of dogs and horses, and lovely glass chandeliers. The owners are gracious and very hospitable, answering all my questons prior to the trip via WhatsApp and during our stay, made sure to inquire if we had any special requests in terms of food (the kids loved their chocolate milkshakes and the French fries) and offering suggestions for other places to visit nearby.

Speaking of the food, we loved the handi paneer and the various vegetable dishes. I would call it elevated homestyle cooking which worked well for us- as we helped ourselves to seconds and thirds!

As we were just interested in relaxing and not sightseeing, our number one reason in choosing Khas Bagh was the swimming pool. It was clean and a refreshing way to spend the hottest part of the day.

There are lots of places to sit outside with a drink and a book, with views of a long lawn where chickens and roosters roam (you will hear them in the morning!) and in the upstairs courtyard.

The suite was quite spacious and very comfortable for 2 kids and 2 adults. The kids decided that they would sleep in the alcove/window seats which the staff made up with quilts and sheets vs in rollaway beds.

I highly recommend a stay at Khas Bagh if you're looking for a relaxing and peaceful getaway.

I visited here with two 19 year old young men. Aside from the unpleasantly chilly evenings (time of year), it was a lovely stay. The rooms were gorgeous, I had a huge bedroom with lovely bath and curtained window alcoves to curl up in and read books. The boys had a beautiful twin room. They gave us heaters for the bedrooms, which made them cozy, and extra quilts. The hotel itself is gorgeous with marble staircases, courtyards, terraces and a cozy bar with a horse motif. The food was solid, but not great. Perfectly tasty, but nothing to expound on. Breakfast was eggs to order, again tasty but not extraordinary. It is outside of Jaipur center (near Fort Amer) so it is quieter and once you are there for the evening we stayed. The boys played croquet and had a grand time and took the two bikes out to explore the village -- playing volleyball, soccer and cricket with the village kids. We were invited by the owner to come to a polo match, and am only sorry we couldn't fit it into our schedule. In general the owner was gracious and checked on us, and Anna was a great help in what to do and where to go. I think a little more organization in terms of perhaps a written description of when dinner should be ordered by and how the hotel operates would be helpful. I was not always sure what was expected of us. But everyone was extremely friendly and helpful and there is an adorable black lab that came to be petted. I highly recommend this hotel.

Khasbagh is so highly recommended!!
Some of us friends decided to take a break, though we were really apprehensive due to the pandemic, our fears were pleasantly put to rest. From the word go, tremendous attention was given to sanitisation and safety protocols - guess the prime thing that matters these days. Sometimes, even if we forgot to put on our masks we were gently reminded to do so by the staff. It truly made us feel at ease, after all we had children and a senior citizen in our mix.

I do need to devote an entire page only on the service and the food!! It almost seems the place was curated to suit our needs and the staff went out of their way to ensure our needs were met in a timely fashion. One of our friends wanted to book the venue for his cousin’s wedding and still can’t stop appreciating the honest & classy suggestions, host Ransher provided. It is fairly apparent that the hotel has been running on ethics and goodwill, not to mention the superb service & experience the hosts ensure.

We will go back again and again to Khasbagh and suggest you do too!

We arrived in the late evening and then the hotel felt small and empty with only one other couple in the bar. We could get a glass of wine in the bar, they were out of gin, but we had to wait a while until someone in the staff could come to the bar. The room was oldfashioned and clean, very rustique, The bathroom floor was covered in water after every shower. The staff was at the same very attentive and circled around us and at the same time they could disappear or forget requests. On the day we stayed in the hotel instead of going sightseeing, the staff kept asking us to let them clean the room. It's an old house with stone and marble, which is pretty, but it also makes sounds of voices etc spread easily around the whole hotel. One family with children were very loud late one night but the staff didn't ask them to keep the noise down. The hotel offers a long list of spa services at very good prices and they are done by someone who comes to the hotel for an appointment. But I ordered pedicure and that was canceled because she had arrived without any tools. My friend's massage service was delayed 20 minutes without any reason being given. For breakfast you can order omelettes which is nice, but the breakfast buffet is very poor with some bread, rice and daal. The area is very quiet and is nice for peace and relaxation but you need a car to go for sightseeing. Wifi was very weak and came and went all the time and didn't work by the pool for example.

We visited Khasbagh after great recommendations from some friends and International visitors who loved the facility. Must say, we are so glad we did! This is truly a haven for families. There was something for everyone. The elders had such a wonderful time engaging with the hosts - Ransher & his family, who truly treated us like their own.

Every detail was sorted and personally looked into by the hosts- hygiene, service, food, ambience & the attention was unparalleled. We have traveled widely & globally but something about this visit has left us with indelible warm feelings and new friends.
Can’t recommend Khas bagh enough, you’re missing something if you don’t visit atleast once.

Khas Bagh was our first "stepping out" after the lockdown and we were a bit unsure about it initially. But most of our concerns were laid to rest after reaching the place. The place is taking all reasonable precautions. Not only does the staff wear masks at all times and maintain adequate distance, but they also keep in mind to let the guests have distance among them. We checked in (1 families incl. a kid each) and they gave us two consecutive well-equipped rooms on the first floor. Soon, two more couples with kids checked in and they gave them rooms on the ground floor. Not only did it afford us privacy but we also had the convenience of stepping out of our rooms on the terrace without masks or fear of being in close proximity of strangers.

About the property, needless to say that it is beautiful and built true to heritage style of architecture and interiors. It is very classy, beautiful and well maintained. The rooms have all amenities and the beds were comfortable. The children loved the Bay Windows and they made for a great reading nook. We had two meals (breakfast and dinner) at the property and the food was very good. The breakfast had continental and Indian options both and the kitchen people even took care of special requests. For dinner, we had even requested local delicacies like papad-tamatar ki sabzi, bajre ki roti and gatte ki sabzi. They were delicious, as were other dishes like Palak corn and malai paneer.

We were still not very comfortable about going to crowded places so we didn't visit any Palace in Jaipur or do any touristy stuff. We basically stuck to the property and clicked lots and lots of photos in the beautiful place.

Khas Bagh was truly Khas.A stay for 2 nights was truly magical. The weather was more than perfect and
the owner Mr Ransher was extremely hospitable.
Since we went just right after lockdown opened there were minor glitches with food and Air-conditioning .They were immediately looked into and taken care of.(P.S we as guests should all be mindful of not throwing tantrums at little given issues as in the last year and a half it's been very tough for hotel owners and management as well)
The property is so green and beautiful.Rooms have been done very tastefully.
The staff was very courteous.
We Had the suite room on the Terrace a very spacious room with bay windows over looking so much greenery. Perfect place to be after being locked in for months.
Linen was spic and span.
The view from terrace was so beautiful. The property is surrounded by the Aravali Hills. In those 2 days not once did we feel we were in Rajasthan in June.
The property has very good and positive vibes.
We were made to feel at Home.we totally loved our stay here and would highly recommend this place.

We stayed at Khas Bagh from 22 to 26 Feb 2021. Although we’d booked four rooms until the 27th of Feb, we had to check out a day early due to abominable hygiene conditions in this so-called ‘luxury’ homestay and callous attitude of the management towards our needs.

We were asked to check in slightly late so the housekeeping could make our rooms spic and span, but when we reached, the rooms were not only dirty, but were also stinking like a gutter. Strands of hair were scattered all over the floor. There was a thick layer of dust on all the furniture, and it looked like the furniture had not been dusted for ages. We could also see dirty footprints of shoes on the floor. After informing them about the stink in one of the rooms, the housekeeping mended the washroom drains. Despite the mending work, the stink did not dissipate and eventually we had to change the room. The bed linen was full of stains and spots, and again, these were only changed after we insisted. The faucet splash in two of our rooms were leaking and the plaster was flaking off the walls. The cleanliness in the restaurant was equally bad. Food particles littered the floor and there were large stains on the table covers.

We were travelling with an infant and an elderly so had shared a few special needs beforehand, but these were also blatantly ignored. The worst part was their service. We had ordered a bottle of drinking water in the morning but it was delivered only in the night. To make matters worse, there were no intercoms in the rooms so there was no way to contact the staff. No precautions were taken with regard to covid. People from outside (event managers) were seen flitting around the property without any masks and no screening was being done. The quality of food was also quite abysmal. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

A beautiful and serene place. The staff is very courteous and goes out of the way to make sure that all our needs are catered too.

If in a group, please make sure that you order your meals in advance to avoid any disappointment.

Rooms are comfortable, and well maintained.

Some tips
1. Avoid peak summer months.
2. Carry your own mosquito repellants in mosquito season.
3. No fridge in the room. But staff was courteous enough to store our stuff in their refrigerator

We decided to drive down from delhi and checked into Khasbagh as walk-in guests. Admittedly, we only checked on trip advisor about the facility and didn’t know what to expect but were so thrilled at the experience.

Not only is the hotel strikingly beautiful but also had the added advantage of being personally looked after by the family who owns the facility. I’m not surprised it was full to capacity. We had a bit of a wait before our check in because another guest was going to vacate soon and then it needed some housekeeping before giving the room to us. The owners were very considerate & looked after us while we waited for the room to be ready. The staff ensured comfortable and easy check in. The room was very tidy and every detail was taken care of, tired after our road trip we decided to rest a while before trying out the food & absorbing the ambience. It was an absolute delight in the evening where the place came alive with gorgeous sights & sounds. The food was delicious and the staff considered all our needs with great care. Since we were there for only 2 nights we stayed up till late, enjoying each moment of our stay. We have assured the hosts that we will keep returning for quick breaks. Thank you so much Ransher & team at Khasbagh, who made our stay so very special!
