Planned for a two nights three night golf trip in bintan for the New Year. Was able to find Lagoi Bay Villas as the most reasonably price stay so decided on staying for two nights.
Pros. The private villa is spacious. You get a private pool which is great for bintan.
You can have your breakfast inside the room.
Also they partner with a local massage place which you can have your massage inside your room. It is more secure.
The local is a minute walk to Lagoi Plaza there are a few local groceries where you can stack up with bintan beers or order a takeaway for some local Chinese Malaysia noodles
Cons: It’s a bit old, the floors damage are very obvious. I wished that Lagoi villas had fix them. That would have been nicer.
The breakfast go for the local nasi fried rice breakfast. The American style egg and toast breakfast was not really edible.
Lastly when you check your bill. Make sure to check each items. The staff may intentionally or unintentionally make mistakes.
Pricewise it was a bit high although that is what you get in Bintan.
I would try to look at other location in the same price range.

For starters, we emailed the hotel to enquire about the pick up from the ferry terminal but no answer. But a day before the trip, we received a text from Pak Hendra about our time of arrival and will pick us up.
Check in was a breeze and we were recommended by him to check out Ciuyong Seafood Kelong for our dinner which cost IDR250.000 return trip. The freshness of the seafood was amazing. We tried the blood cockles, which was massive! The next day we went to Tanjung Pinang which costs IDR800.000 return trip. We were driven around by one of the drivers, Avin who was very accommodating and professional. Great hospitality!
Not much amenities around except for Plaza Lagoi which was super dead.
Villa wise, its nature themed so expect mosquito bites. Overall its a great retreat from the busy life.

This is the best stay ever! Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly staff who led us down a path carefully curated with plants all the way to the room.
The room was delightful, with a private swimming pool which is connected to the bathroom and bedroom via sliding doors.
The amenities are clean, breakfast is delivered to the room daily with a vast selection of american breakfast to Indonesian/ asian cuisine. You can top up 100k rupiah for a floating basket for that instagramable breakfast in the pool shot.
There are barbecue nights on Friday nights for 488k rupiah. My wife and I were fortunate enough to be the only ones who reserved it and we had the venue to ourselves! The villa manager, Mr Yeyen and his dedicated staff were really delightful host, chatting with us and reccomending us the wine for our steak. Thank you for your hard work, it itsnt an easy job to run the villa.
We will definitely return for our next anniversary!

Kamuela Bintan was by far the worst resort we’ve ever stayed at.
Apart from the polite staff, nothing else was good.
The resort is infested with lizards. There was lizard poop everywhere. On the floor, beds, tables, and sofas. It was so disgusting. We had to keep cleaning it ourselves so that our kids wouldn’t accidentally touch it.
The toilet flush did not work. The shower head did not work. No extra towels were given for the kids (even after requesting) No extra pillow No extra water bottle (if u want more than the 2 , provided for a family of 4, per day u have to pay) Food was terrible, tasteless, and not worth the money spent Rooms were not cleaned even after putting out the ‘clean our room sign’ we had to call the cleaners after we got back from a tiring day and supervise while they cleaned the room. Ridiculously priced for a worn-out place to stay
We will never be going back there.
If you are reading this and thinking of going, please re-think.
It was by far the WORST hotel we’ve EVER stayed at.

Came here for a long weekend away with my darling, via Singapore. All good for flights and transferring to the ferry terminal. The 40 minute boat ride seemed calm to us but still lots of vomit bags for the other passengers. On arrival no one to meet us as promised despite every other hotel being represented in the arrivals corridor. The room was just ok for the price. Pleasant private pool and lounge/dining area with a comfy AC bedroom. But few expected things such as extra pool towels, bath mats, cutlery, glasses. Breakfast was brought to the room- basic Indo or Western fare. Service ok, but communication not great for us monolingual folk.
But here’s the catch: Lagoi resort town was absolutely dead. We half expected zombies to appear in The Plaza Square , such was it’s deserted state. Despite this the band played on (to three people). This meant nowhere to eat except the Yeah lounge and bar or from the resort provided hawkers huts near the Plaza of the Dead. The last insult was the walk on the lovely white sandy beach was spoilt by the clods of oil and tar! The (fading and peeling) hoardings and advertising signs for developments to come suggests we might have come here 20 years too soon but the sad and tired infrastructure maybe says we were 5 years late. We cut our losses and went back for a last night in Singas instead.

First time staying in a villa and from the moment we landed at the ferry terminal , nothing but hospitality from kamuela villa and their staff. They helped in such a way that the guests dont even require to lift a muscle. Along the way to the villa , their driver even allowed us to visit their local stores to purchase some snacks. Check in was fast and efficient , which i think was a plus point as i could not wait to chill in the private pool. They even offered to bring our luggages to the room for us. Room service is fast and food was of good quality. I recommend going snorkling, Kayaking and the place helps u take photos and videos as well. U can stay there from opening till closing , and it only cost 50 SGD per pax. And for dinner , the driver bought us to their local seafood place which was by the pier. Food felt like home cooked and ambience was incredible. I recommend this villa for a good relaxing time away from your hectic city schedules. There were alot of other activities which we did not do, as time was of the essence for me. But we will definitely visit kamuela villa again , for sure. No regrets at all.

This villa is really super private and nice. Only drawback is there isnt much to do if you are not booking any tours in bintan.
So basically its just swim in your own private pool, eat and watch tv. Talk about tv, i think thats just the only negative thing i have to say about this villa, unless you have an indonesian account for disney plus or have an indonesian credit card to pay for pay per view movies, you wont be able to enjoy programmes during your stay.
Only option for us was to watch youtube for the weekend so pls bring along your laptops, video games etc and plug it to the tv for your entertainment.
Other than that, this villa is really clean and spacious. There is a minimart within walking distance from the hotel and 2-3 eateries so getting food is super convenient too.
The breakfast spread offered at Kamuela is on the average side but the portions are generous, keeps you full for half a day.
Will definitely return again for another stay.

The resort is worth the money spent. The villa is large and there is a lot of space for children to run about.
I booked the deluxe villa, which comes with a living room, a small kitchen area (no stove), bedroom (king bed) and private pool.
Perhaps the resort might want to consider putting some items at the Kitchen area (eg: utensils, bowls, microwave).
The hotel's food is subpar. You can get better at the local cafes at Lagoi Plaza. The hotel should look into the food to entice the hotel guests to order in.
The villa is a bit run down and you can tell it is no 100% cared for by the resort's management. However, the service staff are great! Especially Ranty, Qory, Wisra and another driver whom I have forgotten his name (same driver who picked up from the ferry terminal upon arrival and to the mangrove to see the fire flies)
The resort has a lot of potential to be great. But the owner of the hotel (Archipelago Hotels) has to do something about it.
Location wise, not really fantastic. There is nothing much around except that the beach is a nearby (5-7min walk away) and there are local cafes/eateries nearby at a very very quiet Lagoi Plaza.
Overall, good resort due to its affordability but location to other attractions is really far away.

Due to a typhoon, our flight got canceled, turning our planned two-night stay into just one, and to make matters worse, it was pouring rain. We couldn't enjoy the beach or pool as we had hoped. However, our room was incredibly spacious and clean, providing a comfortable retreat from the rain. We could order room service and such via WhatsApp, but it was a bit tricky to tell if our orders went through, as there wasn't always a clear response.
During check-out, the heavy rain continued, and we had to carry our luggage through the downpour along an outside path without any assistance, which was a bit disappointing. On a brighter note, the breakfast was absolutely delicious! We'd love to return for a longer stay next time.
A special shoutout to Mr. Wisra, who provided us with transportation to the ferry terminal. He was incredibly kind and, seeing that we couldn't go to the beach due to the rain, he suggested and took us on firefly and Blue Lake tours. Without him, our Bintan Island trip would have been quite a different experience. Thank you so much!

Stay here for just 2 short nights prior to a trip. We really loved every aspect of this hotel. The rooms are amazing with the private pool and great outdoor living. The manager Mr. Yeyen met us as soon as we checked in, he and the whole staff are so welcoming but better than that, genuinely warm. The food and beverage options are excellent. Our breakfast and juices were so good! We had room service for lunches which was great. Our room is very clean and staff are wonderful and well trained. We spend a great deal time there. It was just marvelous to be a part of this unique experience really hard to say goodbye. I highly recommend Kamuela Villas Thank you so much for the hospitality and the remarkable attentiveness of the reception team, management and housekeeping. We will definitely come back!

Not sure if there is a ferry service but there will taxis right outside the front door who are more than willing to drive you out there. I paid 280 000 it about $19.00 for the 50 minute ride out there. I have videos of this experience on my You Tube Channel, Nsane Travel.
