The resort have a complimentary shuttle bus from and to the ferry port with a schedule that is reliable and simple. When you're at Beach club you get to use the facilities of the main hotel next door, including the pool and access to the beach. Staff are friendly and helpful. The huts are clean and basic with running hot water and AC. Unfortunately, when we arrived, there was tar washing up on the beach and we spent time picking up plastic bottles and general scum from humans. The staff at the hotel were there every morning combing the beach and cleaning it. I would also say that once here, you are trapped. You can hire a bicycle but don't hire it for more than two hours, you can't go beyond the guards and it will take you less than an hour to get around the designated map/area. You are restricted to restaurants on the map, which are all at the hotels. You cannot go outside of the restrictive map/area unless you hire a car. This means you are paying resort prices so it's not a typically cheap Indonesian destination. I would not stay here longer than a long weekend. You can catch a shuttle bus to Lagoi bay and the shuttle bus is free. The sea breeze is amazing and the area is quiet.

We somewhat knew what to expect having visted the Nirwana Resort Hotel. The limited food options are extremely overpriced though Indonesian restaurant Spice, Seafood restaurant Kellong and their Noodle place is quite good. Dino Bistro has a great outdoor vibe though their western fare is awful especially for the price.

Our beachfront suite was good (which is what we got last time) though same problems with the air conditioning where the floor is always wet. Fortunately it wasn't too hot so didn't need the air con that often.

Unfortunately the basketball court had been closed and changed into a strange, well-guarded jewelry manufacturer? A bit odd though hope they find a new place for the basketball court.

The main reason we came back to Nirwana was the children's area which is big and well staffed. Many places in the resort need more upkeep so will be keeping an eye on Trip Advisor for future reference whether they decide to make some important changes or let the place slide.

Nirwana resort located at Lagoi area where exclusive tourism area located.

Due to that, the hotel price is not cheap, especially I booked on last minute that Made the price went up.

When I came on mid November (weekend), the hotel look not too busy, but when I said, may I have room with better view for my review purpose? The receptionist brushed me off without really listen. She said, I paid for the standard room ( but way more expensive than their non peak days).

The hotel facilities are nice and spacious, which nice. Yes, it bit old and I can feel I’m in the Bogor family’s hotel instead of hotel in the exotic island.

There is a private beach in the hotel area, which thankfully quiet and clean. But no coast guard to be seen.. but it’s okay the wave is calm that day.

Moving on to the room, the amenities provided is bare minimum. No toothpaste, bottled shampoo and soap 2 in 1 made me wonder if I am in a budget hotel instead of USD 180 per night. I need to buy the toothpaste at their overprice convenience store in the lobby.

I have a dinner at Kelong resto and ask if the buggy car is for free. No, not a chance. There is Shuttle bus, just wait for it based on schedule.

The most frustrating thing is the internet. I read from the previous review several years ago, that internet speed always the problem. In this era, where digital nomad work from everywhere including secluded island far from anyone, good internet connection should be basic need. Don’t blame it on the geographic reason, because the neighbor hotel offer a very good internet connections.

The only redemption is the breakfast selection.
Many menus available though the porridge is bland. But no worries, omelette is nice, and other foods are standard delicacy.

Overall, it is just okay hotel with overpriced rate.

One of the worst 5 stars hotel nightmare.

1. 2 bottles of water for the room , additional request will have addiontal charges

2. Wifi here is 5s per load at least. Additional stronger wifi has additional rates

3. Basically just be prepared to have your own toothpaste , water , food , takeaway food bag. Cause they literally charge for everything. It's as good as backpacking.

4. Stated buffet for breakfast. But coffee has extra charges, so does the milk. Hilarious

5. Half the staff here doesnt speak english. Be prepared to get a yes for everything & something else comes your way

All activities & food sold here are the same prices you find in any 4-star hotel in singapore. BUT they are literally trying to charge for everything you do.

Wouldn't recommend this place now. Used to be alot better.

The service was excellent. It began even before our trip through email correspondence which was responsive, forthcoming and clear. And throughout our stay, we were never disappointed with their service. We stayed in the Nirwana Suite. It was very spacious with balcony overlooking the beautiful swimming pool and private beach. The room was clean and comfortable. We loved the jacuzzi pool. We enjoyed our morning walks along the clean and quiet beach. Breakfast came with a wide selection of food served in a clean and spacious restaurant with attentive waitresses and waiters. Overall we were happy and satisfied with our vacation at Nirwana Resort Hotel.

Location is beautiful but that’s as far as this place goes. You may think you’re booking an undiscovered cheap hotel but unfortunately you will be paying for literally everything else, and I mean even paying for little pool toys that have no monetary value. The prices within the resort are extremely high and you’ll end up paying the same amount on food as you did to book this place. The customer service is horrible. Seems like most staff haven’t been trained for their job and they lack basic customer service skills.

When checking into the hotel you are given zero information about restaurants, activities or things to do. The normal information book you’d expect to get when checking into your room is non existent. We had to ask for a map of the resort and even then the staff seemed confused. The resort almost feels deserted as there was only around 60 people staying in the whole place which could easily hold 250 people.

For those concerned about internet speed, do not come. The wifi speed here is horrible! You are able to upgrade to faster speeds through an additional payment but even then it does not get better.

The hotel advertisers all these fun and exciting activities but unfortunately they were all closed. Staying any longer than two days is way too much.

The food here is average at best. From the supposed seven restaurants to choose from only 3 were open. The Dino bistro and poolside bar offer very expensive meals that are not really worth trying. The Spice restaurant was definitely a surprise. Only a short, FREE shuttle bus away, we enjoyed another expensive meal but this time we’re glad to actually enjoy our meal. For those going to try the spice restaurant we would recommend staying away from the dessert menu as the desserts were horrible.

Overall, the rooms were clean but somewhat dated and needed fixing up. For those considering coming to Bintan Island we would recommend spending a little bit more money on a nicer place for a max of two nights.

Our stay at Nirwana Resort was easily the worst holiday we have had.

The resort promises lots of fun and great dining options and delivers none of these. Nearly everything is closed, so you have little option where to eat and what to do. The food is well below average whilst being very expensive. Every meal we ordered at least one dish was messed up requiring it to be returned.

The wifi doesn’t work and most of the electrical outlets in the room didn’t work either.

Most areas in the resort are under restoration or being maintained…

The price of everything at the resort, down to the pool toys will cost you…not worth the money you pay.

We cut our holiday short and returned to Singapore even though we didn’t get refunded for the days we weren’t there..we just couldn’t stay any longer.

Go to another resort, just stay away from Nirwana.

The location is arguably the top in Bintan. From the outside the lobby looks ordinary, but the reception is truly extraordinary and welcomed with typical dances, for the hotel facilities it is good, and many recreation areas,in the afternoon I relax by the pool while enjoying the beautiful beach, then after dinner I relax accompanied by a singapore sling drink delicious made by one of the bartenders named billy while listening to live music.great holiday

Beautiful scenic beach, some tar and shipping ropes plus the litter as expected further as you walk but over all, for a short hop from Singapore stunning beach. Sadly the price v quality of the hotel is wrong… food quality at the hotel is not great at all, parts of the hotel really need an upgrade, plastic chairs and horrible sun beds scattered around. It’s a huge hotel and I’m assuming maybe covid had its toll, if someone was to invest it could be incredible ( especially for location, local activities , short hop from Singapore and so on). We ended up getting a taxi to the banyan a couple of times for nicer meals , but again the taxi was the wrong price, would have been way better if they could have just used one of the many buggy’s sitting doing nothing or even the Nirwana bus that was parked at the hotel . There is a shuttle bus to take you to the Nirwana gardens restaurants which worked well, but if it ends up full then you have to wait for the Nirwana van which was actually helpful rather than waiting for another bus ( they run every half hour) .

On a positive , outside of the hotel itself and reachable on the shuttle we had a fantastic meal at the spice restaurant, was definitely the best for us. We also enjoyed kelong and the bar on the jetty for sunset but sadly way over priced for Indonesia …

the pool bar was closed and I was told by staff it would be open the Friday but it wasn’t - which was a shame. The pool restaurant was really not at a 4 star level. Plastic chairs, average drinks ( overpriced ) even the local beer was Singapore priced!!! Shame really as people travel to get away from that ….

We travelled with children and they enjoyed the pool table ( sadly they had to pay which is unnecessary) especially as free in the KTV.

My kids did however enjoy the bowling and they had 2 free games included in the stay ( paying for shoes - strange ) but they liked it and it was a blessing on a rainy day

Overall the staff were fantastic ! So friendly, very polite and helpful. Ktv staff especially . Also big thanks to Denni who cleaned our rooms to perfection.

Breakfast our first two days was shocking! But the hotel was almost empty so I’m assuming that’s why… once more guests arrived they improved the size of the buffet. But still it wasn’t great .. coffee options from a machine were not drinkable … maybe they need to visit another hotel to see how it’s done.

Could be an amazing hotel close to the ferry etc with a beautiful beach but really needs a refurb/uplift. This could be accepted fairly if the price reflected it

Nirwana is a really beautiful and clean hotel. The pool and the beach are phenomenal. Staff is really friendly and willingly to help. However prices of the food, drinks and any activity are far beyond reasonable. They are extremely high, and are similar to prices in Western Europe. Note that you are on an resort area that is surrounded by gates and that you need a taxi, also expensive, (15 minutes from the hotel) to get out. Outside of the resort area, food is a lot cheaper.
When we were at the hotel it was really quiet; we think this is because the prices are too high. We’d recommend the hotel to offer an option for half pension or perhaps all inclusive to prevent unpleasant surprises for the guests and bad reviews for the hotel.

Hi LeoArul, sorry I missed your question. The breakfast buffet spread had quite a huge selection of veg dishes. However, if you need absolute vegetarian meals, you can also email their guest service. They are warm and friendly.

When you check-in to the hotel, you also have to inform them of your ferry schedule and they will make the necessary arrangements with the ferry operator. They will tell you when to pick up your boarding passes and time of the bus from hotel to ferry terminal. No need to arrange for alternative transport.

No idea. Since this is offer from the hotel, you are recommended to email hotel for confirmation of offer validity. For the 3-year old, most of the recreational facilities are unsuitable. I dont remember the resort having playthings for such young children. I guess the only thing is for the adult to bring the child swimming in the pool or maybe play on the sandy beach/sea shore.
