Lovely place to relax but there is nothing around the resort. All the activities will be in resorts. You need to take the shuttle to go around. Beware of jellyfish too. I do enjoy their private beach though.

We somewhat knew what to expect having visted the Nirwana Resort Hotel. The limited food options are extremely overpriced though Indonesian restaurant Spice, Seafood restaurant Kellong and their Noodle place is quite good. Dino Bistro has a great outdoor vibe though their western fare is awful especially for the price. Our beachfront suite was good (which is what we got last time) though same problems with the air conditioning where the floor is always wet. Fortunately it wasn't too hot so didn't need the air con that often. Unfortunately the basketball court had been closed and changed into a strange, well-guarded jewelry manufacturer? A bit odd though hope they find a new place for the basketball court. The main reason we came back to Nirwana was the children's area which is big and well staffed. Many places in the resort need more upkeep so will be keeping an eye on Trip Advisor for future reference whether they decide to make some important changes or let the place slide.

The location is arguably the top in Bintan. From the outside the lobby looks ordinary, but the reception is truly extraordinary and welcomed with typical dances, for the hotel facilities it is good, and many recreation areas,in the afternoon I relax by the pool while enjoying the beautiful beach, then after dinner I relax accompanied by a singapore sling drink delicious made by one of the bartenders named billy while listening to live music.great holiday

A big resort with a big nice pool area. Close to the beach but it was red flag every day when we were there. Friendly staff, okey restaurants at the resort but quite expensive. The room was worn down.

Dear axl108, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Whilst we are pleased that there were some positive factors to your stay, we are sorry that there were shortfalls that affected what could have been a more memorable experience with us. Regretfully, the red flags are there for our guest's safety during the monsoon season which happens between November to March in Bintan. During this period, we would recommend our guests to utilize the swimming pool. On the same note, we are sorry for the inconvenience caused to you as our aim is to always ensure our valued guests enjoy a memorable experience. Do be assured that we are reviewing the points you have brought up and we continue to work hard to ensure that we deliver the best to our guests. We hope for another opportunity to deliver a better experience to you in the near future.

For the premium price we paid and the service we received, we will not go back to the Nirwana. This was our 2nd visit to Bintan. The first time we were staying at Angsana, which made us want to go back to the Bintan for the 2nd time. Overall, in terms of – (1) Transportation: At Angsana, we were pick up by the private car at the Ferry terminal. There is a shuttle bus to & from the Mall (Plaza Lagoi) ,we still have a chance to travel outs of the resort for the cheaper foods, they are more flexible with their transportation services. While at Nirwana, we need to wait close to 45 mins for the bus to be filled at the Ferry Terminal. There is a shuttle bus provided but only in the resort area, to travel out of the resort we need to call for a taxi. Both resorts are just a stone's throw away from the Ferry Terminal. (2) Dining –The top restaurants in Bintan are located at Banyan Tree, which just next to the Angsana. The food at Nirwana are expensive and below the bar, all the restaurant are located far from each other, which need to travel by the shuttle bus. (3) Room- Both are clean and neat. (4) Service- Angsana, The staffs are polite and friendly. Nirwana, bad customer service, the Reception was rude. (5) Activities- Angsana,There are a variety of games provided in one place. While at Nirwana, the games are scattered all around, need to travel by shuttle bus, which not convenience. (6) Beach- Angsana has a better, clean’s beach than Nirwana.
