Nice hotel in the centre of the small town. Our room was actually in a totally separate house reached by walking through the hotel garden at rear. This did mean it was very quiet away from the road, which admittedly was not too busy anyway. Room was on the top floor but a good size, decor nice although a little...

Clean and comfy room with ensuite. Coffee and tea available in room and the offer of fresh milk if you would prefer instead of little long life pots. Replenished every day, only downside, no biscuits but that is just me and my sweet tooth. Ate in the restaurant Friday and Saturday night and the food was really good for the...

I cannot say enough about how poor my experience of this of this pub with rooms was I thought it looked ok from the outside so called in for a drink in the bar with the plan to book a room as I walked in I was ignored by a pompous gentleman and I use that term very lightly who...

I've never written a review before but enjoyed it here so much I thought they deserved one. The setting was lovely, we had a lovely, double deluxe relatively small but beautifully refurbished room overlooking a small courtyard with trees and lots of birdsong. In fact the whole pub is beautifully done - no shabby staircases or drop in standards as...

We stopped in Room 1 a twin. The room was big and roomy with twin beds and 2 nice armchairs and a large bathroom. the only problem was a dodgy window hasp that I have seen reported in another review. It would have taken me 5 mins to fix had I had a screwdriver and a couple of screws, Otherwise...

We've stayed here twice now. The first time by chance as our tent blew down and we had a desperate call round to find somewhere to stay. The second visit because we so enjoyed the first. Both were weekend breaks with a 13 and a 4 year old. The rooms are dated but a great size, clean and the beds...

We were in room 3 which is a superior twin and was very comfortable. We'd booked 2 nights dinner bed and breakfast, including the gala new years eve feast. Food was amazing - I can't recommend it enough, and the portion sizes were very ample. A good choice of wines at reasonable prices too. Staff were very friendly and made...

I've stayed in a number of small, privately run hotels in the UK over the past several years. Most have been adequate, but would invariably disappoint in one way or another. We unexpectedly needed a room on short notice in Kirkbymoorside and on blind chance selected this hotel. They had a room available and it turned out to be quite...

We stayed at the Hotel with our two dogs for two nights at the end of October. We were a little weary when reading some of the reviews on here, but really people what were you complaining about!!! From the moment we arrived the service we received were second to none and something that is missing in so many similar...

Called in for late lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Friendly efficient staff. Lovely locally hand made burgers & great pint of Theakstons. Would definitely call again - we were staying in a nearby cottage for the weekend.
