I live locally and had received a leaflet to publicise that Brickfields was opening a bistro style restaurant - the Feather and Beak, so was keen to try something new. My partner and I were made very welcome by Karen and Ian, perfect hosts. Lovely setting and pleasantly decorated, and spotlessly clean (also evident after a visit to the loo!) The menu was both interesting and varied with a good choice of fish, game, meat and a vegetarian option. I had asparagus, salmon and poached egg with hollandaise as starter, partner had smoked haddock risotto with poached egg. If this had been 'Four in a Bed' the chef would definitely win the prize for perfectly poached eggs and so fresh. Too often I've had woody or overcooked asparagus - but this was superb. I think the quality of the ingredients were apparent from the off, and continued through out. I had duck for my main, gorgeous sauce, perfectly cooked medley of veg. Partner had fish - by this stage I was well into the rather nice pinot grigio so can't quite recall - possibly monkfish, but he was very happy. I did the 'oh no I'm far too full' for dessert but noting the obvious deception the lemon and raspberry dessert arrived with two spoons and two pieces of homemade short bread. I had a 'little' taste, perfect, very lemony and not too sweet. Absolutely chuffed to find this gem on our doorstep. We look forward to going back and bringing family with us.

Stayed here last week for the second time this year. Beautiful accommodation and surrounding countryside. The food is exceptional and i urge everybody to try the evening meal....its a pure delight and so reasonbly priced. My only critique, and its only a miniscule one...i just wish there was some diversity on lagers and beers in ...The Little Baah. Having said that i think karen and ian are on an upward projectory. I advise people to book at their earliest convenience.
