We chose this location as it we needed a stop-off up the A1 but I wanted a nice walk so Snape fit the bill. We arrived early on a Monday afternoon and the only thing to say about that is you need to make arrangements as the owners close on Monday afternoons. We had room 3 which is part of...

The Castle Arms is conveniently close to Bedale where we visit elderly parents. Cosy rooms are tastefully kitted out and ensuite bathrooms are spotlessly clean and well-equipped. The beds are comfortable and there are tea/coffee making facilities as well as a wall-mounted television. Rooms are situated in outbuildings facing an attractive courtyard area. A relaxed 'local' atmosphere is blended with...

Went for early evening meal (6pm) with friends. It was when we had our first cold spell. The place was really cold, and when this was pointed out to the landlord he said it was "too early yet for heating'! The fire was put on in the restaurant but took fomenting to warm the place through. The waitress was 'uninterested'....

We stayed in this establishment a few years ago and stopped because it had gone downhill. when we heard it was under new management we thought that we would go and stay again. We were shown to our room on a very cold afternoon; the room was freezing, it did eventually warm up but we would have thought that putting...

We stopped here on our way back from Inverness and we couldn't have been more pleased with our choice. We had a total of three rooms, one double and two singles. All were excellent. The food was very good both for dinner and breakfast and our hosts and staff were brilliant. The rooms and hotel have, I think have been...

We have just spent a night in this gorgeous pub and B&B. It was everything we wanted from the lovely cosy traditional pub with open fires and superb huge portions of traditional food to the very unique and stylish accommodation in the rear courtyard. Breakfast was very nice as were the terrific and friendly owners. The village in which it...

Stayed here for one night bed and breakfast in a superior room. The place itself is in a super location if you want to be in a small village with nothing there (it is what i wanted). Fields all around and a very small chapel nearby which you can have a wander round which is quite picturesque. The inn itself...
