This B&B has plenty of character and has been updated to provide all mod cons. Tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean, the beds are comfortable, the sheets are crisp and the white towels are fluffy. Teas, coffee, hot chocolate, milk and water are provided in the rooms and should you run out there are additional supplies in the hall cupboard which has a fridge. The breakfasts are outstanding. There are cereals, fresh fruit, and yoghurt. In addition, there is home made compote, home made butter and jams. The cooked breakfasts include eggs fresh from the B&B's hens. We struggled to finish the generous portions. Having chosen different options including, full English breakfast, smoked salmon and eggs and blueberry pancakes, all were cooked to perfection. Susan and Penny cannot do enough for you and make you very welcome. You can sit downstairs on comfy sofas and we were lucky enough to have good weather and sit outside as well.

We were a party of seven so we filled the rooms. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts Susan & Penny who treated us so well we really did not want to leave after our 3-night stay. The rooms are large and spotlessly clean, beds so comfortable & breakfasts so fabulous it is the perfect place to stay. There are so many special little touches that make this better than most bed & breakfast places. The Guest Fridge, for example, the snacks left for guests with an honesty box, the fantastic muffins every morning that we took with us on our walks in the countryside and at the end of the day being able to relax and chat in the Guest Lounge.

Located up a drive just off the main road on the outskirts of Washford, Langtry Cottage is very easy to find. It is a self-catering, 2-bedroom, single-storey cottage attached to the Langtry Country House B&B. It is very comfy, impeccably clean, warm and well equipped. Little touches like the provision of a hotel-style hospitality tray and Easter eggs were much appreciated. There is a twin room with an ensuite bathroom and a double bedroom with an adjacent shower room with one of the best showers ever. Those with young children would appreciate the games provided in the cabin, the chance to see the chickens and the paddock to run around in. Tropiquaria is close by and well worth a visit. Dog appreciated the paddock and was very good at ignoring the chicken and nearby sheep. He heard the resident dogs but was disappointed as he didn't meet them! We found the whole experience very relaxing, enjoyable and good value for money. A perfect base for exploring this beautiful area. We will be returning soon.
