Stayed for one night to celebrate a special birthday. Beautiful and well appointed room with lovely view over the gardens. Staff are attentive but not pushy and know all the guests without you having to tell them your name. Dinner in the restaurant gave a lovely choice of courses and we could not fault the starters and main course. My...

We had a two night Winter Warmer DBB break at Headlam Hall, which is sat on the eastern edge of Teesdale around 20 minutes drive from the A1/A66 junction at Scotch Corner. Its relatively remote location means that you are very dependent on what the hotel can offer, (there are no alternative restaurants within walking distance and not much to...

Wonderful country house hotel with excellent spa facilities on a small scale and golf course, comfortable rooms and very good food, efficiently run with friendly staff, old style furnishings, wonderful grounds and gardens well maintained, great homely atmosphere.

Yes, yes, Headlam Hall is very nice ... the rooms are cozy and romantic ... only two issues I would point out are: it is far away from virtually everything, and if they give you a room outside of the main building is a disaster, specially in Winter ... the internet does not work very well in those rooms and...

I stayed at Headlam hotel for a overnight stay. The Hotel is set in beautiful countryside and has impressive gardens. The hotel lobby is easy to find and the receptionist team had been very welcoming at the desk. The hotel room was very clean and tidy and the room facilities had been good. The only downside to the room, the...

Spent one cold winters night here. However while cold outside the hotel was warm and friendly. Our room was large, with 'olde worlde' furniture, but very comfortable We had a nice dinner and breakfast was also good. The staff were very friendly. We felt that it would be a nice hotel to have a few days relaxation, perhaps in summer.

What an excellent venue. I brought my partner for a spa day and overnight stop to celebrate our first year as a couple. It was a joy. A lovely room, wonderful staff, a great spa with a smashing pool and outdoor hot tub and cracking breakfast. I have no complaints and would love to return one day. Probably will.

We stayed for a few nights between Christmas and new year - the hotel was all booked up for NYE (which sounds like it was good fun from reading another review!). I'd stayed at this hotel years ago, circa 1997-98, a couple of times, and I was interested to see what it was like now with spa facilities added. The...

The rooms were very dated and the shower was terrible however staff in the main hotel were very helpful and the service in the restaurant was good. The spa was the main reason we chose to stay at Headlam Hall and I was immediately disappointed as soon as we arrived - the spa did not have a welcoming atmosphere. Having...
