This was my second stay at McMurdoston, my first stay was in the b&b, and second in swallow cottage. Again, we had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed the break from start to finish. Swallow cottage is spotlessly clean with everything that you need when going on a self catering holiday - including a very handy dishwasher, washing machine, iron...

We absolutely love this holiday location and facility. The hosts are a wonderful couple who work extremely hard to make your stay so enjoyable. This is our second visit to Swallow cottage. The accommodation is still immaculate and equipped with everything that you would expect in a self catering situation. We were delighted to spot the red squirrels everyday, and...

Needed a one night stopover on way south from Ayrshire and this was a last minute excellent find. As the property is way up a narrow lane it seemed to be a bit far from the main road, as we were just passing through, but it is only a mile from the main road. Well worth this extra mile for...

We stayed 1 week in Swallow Cottage. It is a really lovely creation from a ruined barn of this former farm (owners live in the farmhouse cross the yard), just about everything you could need, deceptively simple but tastefully furnished and comfortable and a delight to return to each day. Outlook from kitchen/lounge on to countryside at rear with bird/squirrel...

What a wonderful place and two great people in Sarah and Steve! We arrived on Friday evening after a very wet journey and were quickly shown the drying room for our very wet clothing. After a nice hot shower then tea and scones, we ventured to the local Inn, for fine food and drink. An excellent breakfast was followed by...

We received a great reception from The Proprietors Sarah and Steve and enjoyed a very comfortable stay in one of two self contained cottages. This is a very quiet part of the World, teeming with interesting local wildlife and an ideal place for a long or short break. Regular red squirrel sightings from our cottage were a feature. The roads...

Cottage is well equipped and has a beautiful location with fantastic views and wildlife all around. Listen to the owls at night and the gentle noises of the...

Great place for a group of mountain bikers. Lots of space, very central for the stanes. Sarah and Steve very helpful & accommodating. Cottage perfectly kitted out & with a homely feel. Farm eggs, shortbread, & homemade jam were all a lovely personal touch to arrive to. Been there twice & would definitely go back again.
