We went for a birthday for which my wife saved for three years, thank you darling. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels of all types and sizes and this was without doubt the best experience I have had. The trouble is it has spoiled me for everything else. I always wonder when the television gets involved if the person...

4th vist to this amazing hotel and restaurant. The service is discreet but attentive. The food is really the best we have ever experienced anywhere in the world!!! The rooms are beautiful and a little quirky. If you need to ask the price then you should not visit...but remember the best of the best is a rare occasion....and this it...

Half day Macaron cookery course - brilliant morning with Mark the tutor. Patient and professional but down to earth explaining Italian meringue. Beautiful setting and great kitchen - thoroughly enjoyable morning. Not cheap but worth every penny. Great staff to greet you, welcome coffee and biscuits and then take home samples of your efforts. Wonderful experience.

Have stayed here a couple of times before and it's as wonderful as ever! We had a garden room which was lovely with tea/coffee together with a plate of homemade shortbread brought to our room in the morning. The food is delightful with so much attention to detail. The staff are very polite and very helpful. Do have a walk...

We went for dinner. I knew of the Belmond froup from Fiesole, Italy, and Charleston, SC, but this was quite an event. First we sat in a sitting room a half hour prior to dinner. There we had a drink and lovely little canapés were presented. Then to dinner which was wonderful. The decor and service are superb. For a...

Everything about here is amazing from the moment you pull up in the car park... It's breath taking almost magical. In the words of one of the staff madam anything is possible. Every single staff member we came into contact with gave impeccable service and knowledge but personal and attentive. We had our one year old with us too at...

The moment you arrive you step into a quintessential English country house hotel with a delightful touch of France thrown in for good measure which gives it an extra 'je ne sais quoi', and at times I had to remind myself I was still in the UK. The hotel, our bedroom, gardens & grounds were all absolutely immaculate, and it...

We tend to come here for short celebratory getaways. This was my wife's birthday. The room was comfortable and beautifully finished as usual. The food is exquisite and we particularly appreciate that they cater for gluten free (coeliac disease) and on this occasion made a custom birthday cake to order. Generally the service is exemplary. Only blemish this visit was...

Absolutely superb in virtually all respects. The setting is magical, the house and grounds immaculately maintained. The food is, as one would expect, perfection. The professionalism of the staff is evidenced by by their unceasing attention to detail. The pride they each take in their work shines through at every turn. What could be improved? Maybe IT bits and pieces...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Created by celebrated chef Raymond Blanc OBE, Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons is renowned for offering one of Britain's finest gastronomic experiences. Situated in the picturesque Oxfordshire village of Great Milton, it is also one of the country's most intimate and original hotels, with 32 individually designed guest rooms and suites. The hotel received two Michelin stars in 1984, the first year of its opening, and, remarkably, has held them ever since. Surrounded by lawns, flower borders and orchards, the luxury hotel enjoys an idyllic, typically English setting. But beyond the eye-catching displays are vegetable and herb gardens that provide the kitchen-and the acclaimed Raymond Blanc Cookery School-with ultra-fresh, organic produce, ensuring the Michelin-star restaurant remains at the cutting edge of culinary excellence. ... more   less
