On this visit we did not want to visit the house or special places of interest, all we were looking for was a good walk in pleasant surroundings . This turned out to be as very expensive afternoon walk !!!Could have enjoyed a free walk out in the countryside for what we got for the expensive package ! Only good part was a stop at the café where we enjoyed tea and scones .Very disappointing and over rated .

I have just spent a wonderful weekend at Ixworth House. The owners Sharyn and John are so welcoming and made the stay very special. This was my 2nd stay both times for Birthday get togethers with family to celebrate with our relatives in Ixworth. The rooms and garden are beautiful. I would have no hesitation about recommending this Bed and Breakfast to anyone. I really didn't want to leave and could have quite easily spent a few more days relaxing and enjoying this beautiful property. Sharyn and John thoroughly deserve the accolade best Bed and Breakfast 2018 Norfolk and Suffolk Look forward to a return visit soon.

My wife and wife stayed for one night at this enchanting place. We were welcomed very warmly although we had arrived later than the normal check-in hours. The room was beautifully set out with a very comfortable bed and an equally comfortable seating area. The full vege-breakfast was possibly the best I have ever tasted. The hosts were extremely friendly and no doubt we shall see them again on our next trip to Bury. Excellent value for money.

We had a one nights stay at Ixworth House as a birthday treat to escape the children. John and Sharyn’s hospitality is second to none. The house is immaculate and so tastefully decorated. Our room was perfectly equipped with everything you could ask for. The rainfall shower was wonderful. They really do go out of their way to make you feel welcome, nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast table was set so beautifully and what a treat to be able to eat such a delicious meal in a room with a wonderful view over the grounds. The choice of food for breakfast is outstanding.... thank you for my perfect poached eggs! I would recommend Ixworth House without hesitation. Top marks John and Sharyn

Have stayed here a number of times now & each visit is so special. John & Sharyn are such wonderful hosts & always go out of their way to make us feel welcome. The rooms are superbly decorated each having it's own individual identity. Always a great night's sleep. Breakfast is hosted by John leaving Sharyn to cook a delicious English breakfast. Different fresh fruit available daily as well. We just love coming here and look forward to our next visit in 2018.

I cannot express how pleased I was to have chosen Ixworth House in Bury St Edmunds. From my arrival the welcoming by Sharyn and John was overwhelming, first class stay in a beautiful house, you are made to feel so welcome and the breakfast is amazing. This is just what I needed to be able to relax in a house that's as near to home as you will find. I strongly suggest a visit if you need to stay in the area. Great value great service and hospitality you will not beat.

We won one nights stay at Ixworth House in a raffle for St Nicholas Hospice and had an absolutely wonderful stay for my birthday. We live in Bury St. Edmunds so wouldn't stay in a B&B this close, so it really was the perfect little treatt! The house is spectacular inside and out and we received an extremely warm welcome from both Sharyn and John, who are perfect hosts. The whole property is immaculate and decorated / maintained to the highest of standards. We stayed in bedroom four and it was really lovely and once again everything was of the highest standard: deep Japanese bath, extremely comfortable bed with choice of pillows, high-end coffee bags (no instant coffee here...;-)), a wide range of teas, stunning view over the mature but manicured garden, beautiful period features, a mixture of period and modern furniture - all selected to enhance the room and even the mugs for hot drinks were fine China with prints from the V&A. I forgot to mention the excellent artwork in the reception hall where each piece has a story, I'll leave John and Sharyn to tell you when you stay! We went to the Leaping Hare at Wyken farm / vineyard (5 minutes drive away) for dinner which was excellent and sampled a bottle of their own award winning English sparkling wine. The breakfast was satisfyingly tasty with a choice of fresh fruit, cereals and juices; followed by a perfectly cooked full English with high quality ingredients and really tasty coffee. As mentioned, even the butter was the perfect temperature for spreading on my toast! We would highly recommend staying here if you are visiting the area or even if like us you live here and just want a change of scenery! It is clear why Sharyn and John won the channel 4: four in a bed TV contest. We would highly recommend staying here to anyone, for any occasion :)

We stayed at Ixworth house on our way to pick up our puppy. What a fantastic Guest house. John and Sharon are so hospitable. They made us feel like family rather than "just guests". We stayed in the family room. It's so lovely, bright, immaculate and beautifully furnished. The bed is huge and so comfortable. Beautiful ensuite bathroom. Very clean with nice toiletries. Lots of lovely touches in the room and a great variety of hot drinks. Breakfast was amazing. Nice to be able to have a choice of fruit and cereals as well as a full English. It certainly set us up for the day. Thanks again for a lovely stay. Highly recommended.
