I cannot express how pleased I was to have chosen Ixworth House in Bury St Edmunds. From my arrival the welcoming by Sharyn and John was overwhelming, first class stay in a beautiful house, you are made to feel so welcome and the breakfast is amazing. This is just what I needed to be able to relax in a house that's as near to home as you will find. I strongly suggest a visit if you need to stay in the area. Great value great service and hospitality you will not beat.

A lovely welcome awaited us at Ixworth House. Sadly our stay was very short. We had a party to go to shortly after our arrival. We were concerned about coming back in the `wee small hours' but we were given a key which made us feel comfortable.
Our bedroom was large, airy and spotlessly clean. Comfortable bed, with lovely white linen.
Wonderful breakfast served in a beautiful dining room.
We had everything we needed and couldn't have wished for more.
John and Sharyn are deserved winners of Four in a Bed along with their AA Gold Star.
Very Highly recommended.

We stayed three nights and from the minute we walked through the door we felt the warmth and care that Sharyn and John provide for all their guests. Ixworth House is beautiful, clean, warm with a wonderful breakfast and was everything we could have hoped for. The environment inside and out is calm and welcoming. The interior design is fabulous, which I believe is all down to Sharyn, in fact this B&B is quite unique. Ixworth is a lovely village with three excellent places to eat and is just a few miles from the market town of Bury St Edmunds. We can't wait to stay again in 2014.

On this visit we did not want to visit the house or special places of interest, all we were looking for was a good walk in pleasant surroundings . This turned out to be as very expensive afternoon walk !!!Could have enjoyed a free walk out in the countryside for what we got for the expensive package ! Only good part was a stop at the café where we enjoyed tea and scones .Very disappointing and over rated .

My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights. Sharyn and John are lovely hosts and were always interested in what we had been doing during the day. The room we were in was perfect, very large with a nice sofa and a great shower room with a rain shower. There was plenty of choice for breakfast which was always very well cooked and nicely presented. Would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I arrived at Sharyn and Johns after an extremely difficult day. Our daughter had booked for us to stay for three nights through hotels.com late on Monday evening and we had no idea what we would find, she couldn't have found us better accommodation. We were given a very warm welcome, even though we were late, I enquired about food as we hadn't eaten all day, Sharyn kindly produced a tray of sandwiches, the room was immaculate, calm and in perfect order, total bliss. We really didn't want to leave and booked a fourth night's stay. We eventually had to drag ourselves away from such a lovely couple and superb home. We highly recommend this beautiful B&B, thank you Sharyn and John.

Found in the lovely Suffolk village of Ixworth close to Bury St Edmonds, you'll find a warm welcome from the lovely owners Sharyn and John. Ixworth House is a beautiful Edwardian period home, with all the character that comes with properties of that period. As a B&B it is very well appointed, immaculate, and very comfortable with all the amenities you'd expect from a luxury B&B. I especially loved the full English breakfast in the dining room with the fire roaring (it was December). I had one of the best night's sleep I've had in a long time, and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Here you can enjoy quality comforts in a relaxing atmosphere. Definitely recommended.

My wife and wife stayed for one night at this enchanting place. We were welcomed very warmly although we had arrived later than the normal check-in hours. The room was beautifully set out with a very comfortable bed and an equally comfortable seating area. The full vege-breakfast was possibly the best I have ever tasted. The hosts were extremely friendly and no doubt we shall see them again on our next trip to Bury. Excellent value for money.

We had a one nights stay at Ixworth House as a birthday treat to escape the children. John and Sharyn’s hospitality is second to none. The house is immaculate and so tastefully decorated. Our room was perfectly equipped with everything you could ask for. The rainfall shower was wonderful. They really do go out of their way to make you feel welcome, nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast table was set so beautifully and what a treat to be able to eat such a delicious meal in a room with a wonderful view over the grounds. The choice of food for breakfast is outstanding.... thank you for my perfect poached eggs! I would recommend Ixworth House without hesitation. Top marks John and Sharyn
