A good room with good food is our ideal type of place. This Inn just matched both. Splendid room (room 3) overlooking fields and open spaces. We could only stay one night but wish it had been more.. Will definitely comeback. Restaurant top Quality and use locally sourced ingredients, some from their own garden. Best top quality meal we have had in years from Chefs who know how to compliment ingredients. The only little moan is wish we had had a gown and slippers in the room.
We stayed for 3 nights in September for our 35th Wedding Anniversary and enjoyed every minute. Set in the tranquil countryside and refurbished beautifully, Alan & Caroline have clearly put their heart & soul into transforming The Holcombe and making it the restful retreat that it is. The food is exceptional, using a lot of their own home grown produce. Even my Gluten Free diet was not a problem at all. Alan went above and beyond to adjust the menu to suit me, without making me feel like a nuisance! It was so appreciated … many restaurants are far less accommodating, so thank you so much for that. We thoroughly recommend you experience the warm hospitality of this place, we certainly would like to return one day.
Stayed at the Holcombe Inn for two nights with my Partner. From the time we stepped onto the premises to when we left we was made to feel welcomed and all the staff were attentive and could not have done anymore to cater for ourselves and the other guest. They grow there own ingredients in the garden and you can take a wander around it. We ate there both nights and both nights the food was delicious and just the right portion. We also had breakfast both mornings and the amount of food you can have can fill you up till dinner. The prices are fairly priced for the quality of food you recieve and Alan and Kerry are not far to recommend you what's best to drink, the cherry vodka was my favourite. The location was quiet so was perfect to just relax and unwind after a long drive and being out all day. The rooms are big and the beds are comfortable and roomy so you will get a good night's sleep. The inn has footpaths so for people who like to go for walks, you will enjoy the scenery. The inn is 30mins away from Longleat safari Park so worked perfectly for us as we was visiting there on the Saturday.…
We visited for one night to celebrate our anniversary. Cannot fault anything our welcome, our room, the food and service are exceptional. So difficult to find this kind of setting where you are made to feel so welcome. Alan made our experience extra special when kindly providing a complimentary drink to celebrate our anniversary. He is clearly very passionate about his hotel with good reason. We would not hesitate to recommend The Holcombe to anyone looking for a first class establishment with personal touches and hope to return in future.
We stayed for three nights over the bank holiday weekend at The Holcombe. We were looking for somewhere stylish and family friendly with good food and it was just that! The service was exceptional throughout and the food exceed our high expectations. The setting is really beautiful and the new interiors really complement the green surroundings creating a calm and relaxing environment. We can't wait to go again and keep recommending it to all our friends, it really is a gem.
