Carefully planned 2 night stay at this lovely hotel as we needed somewhere peaceful to ‘recover’ before a drive home. In view of this we booked a Junior Suite, so as to have plenty of room and access to nice countryside views through the patio doors. In any event, we were actually able to sit out on the patio for a while, even at the end of October. The suite included a large bedroom, bathroom, living room (with desk and chair) and actually included a small kitchen too, which was very welcome. Large wall mounted tv’s were in both the bedroom and lounge. Lovely bath with plentiful hot water, although apparently the separate shower did involve some hot and cold moments whilst adjusting the water temperature to ‘just right’. Being housebound for the day, the staff did knock and offer to tidy for us, but were happy to just supply extra tea and milk we requested instead. The staff were all very friendly, efficient and helpful. The food at dinner and breakfast on both of the 2 days stay was all delicious and extremely filling. Recommend the lamb shank and the chilli. It was nice to see both Richard and Tom well in the public eye, working as hard as their staff. Be sure to take a closer look at the huge fireplace and bread oven in the main bar. There are lots of National Trust places to visit in the surrounding area, Montacute House is highly recommended. Also we spotted that the Fleet Air Arm at Yeovilton is nearby.

Absolutely fantastic little apartment for myself and 2 school friends. A double bed was made up and 2 single beds, in one large bedroom. All very comfortable and Spotless in every room, a lovely little outside area with tables and chairs, tv in the lounge, all in all very comfortable. We had a dinner table booked for 7pm, staff friendly and the food for us three was just divine! Then onto Breakfast, a lovely spread of fresh fruit, toast, ect, fresh juices were available, then on the menu a varied amounts of different breakfasts available. Overall good value, and a good 10/10. My friends from London, said they wouldn't want to stay anywhere else when they visit Somerset. Thank you team Hollies. 😃

Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. We have been under some pressure as, like a lot of hospitality businesses, we are struggling to recruit staff since coming out of pandemic restrictions and back into a wonderfully busy surge in customer numbers. I'm pleased to hear that despite being under pressure, our team remained calm, professional and welcoming. We look forward to seeing you again in the near future!
