The Diamond Inn is located in the heart of Ponteland with a country Pub feel, that offers a wide range of Real Ales, real food, real fire and a real atmosphere! We are popular with locals and tourists alike for our friendly smile and warm welcome! We have a large selection of beers, wine and spirits that can be enjoyed in our spacious & comfortable bar or in the purpose built outdoor patio area. Our food is locally sourced and freshly prepared by our family run kitchen... Who love to cook! My friends and I stayed there on Thursday 2/2/23 for a 60th birthday, the birthday lady was coming from Scotland and chose this area/pub as she was so impressed 2 years ago when we stayed for a wedding. The manager Andy was so pleasant as were his staff Sue and others. The rooms have been decorated and very good value for money, they are extremely hot but there is a large velux window. There was tea coffee plenty of beautiful white towels and toiletries, the ladies who are responsible for looking after the rooms are really friendly and enjoy a bit of banter. Unfortunately there is no hot food these days but the continental breakfast was adequate and tea flowing, Sue is very attentive and keen to keep you fed and watered. We were having a drink almost as soon as we arrived to celebrate meeting up and Sue had overheard our plans and kindly popped in with a champagne bucket with ice and champagne flutes……. what a lovely gesture and very much appreciated. 3 of my group live in Newcastle 20 mins away, Jane who organised it lives locally in the village and is passionate to promote Ponteland, the birthday girl is from Scotland. If you need a break and live within an hour of The Diamond just book in and you’ll have a great time, no need to go to York or Edinburgh it’s on your doorstop,Northumberland is beautiful and Ponteland is full of food and drink establishments. Thanks again to Andy and all of the staff you made us so welcome and we hope to see you again.

Great pub and very helpfull staff!! I have been a regular customer of the diamond since 1997 when i worked in ponteland.I recently popped in for a drink with my wife to celebrate my birthday before moving on to a local restaurant. A few days later i received a parking fine for £60 .i thought this was a bit unfair, after all i was a paying customer and have never had this issue before.i did notice that there were signs in place that stated permit holders only, but i could not see any other signs that informed me to notify staff or register my REG number anywhere. After receiving my fine i contacted the pub via facebook!! .i got a speedy response from a guy called Andy who said if i supplied him the details of my fine he would contact civil enforcement on my behalf and dispute my fine. Thanks to Andys intervention my fine has been overturned, he was so kind and very helpful, if anyone has received a fine get in touch with the pub and ask for help!! .Andy is a star and the diamond is a great pub always has been, great customer service and a fine selection of drinks nice and cosy and always full of freindly people!! Well done the diamond, we will be seeing you soon the next time we are up pont!!! Thank you

I have recently attended an event in this pub and soon after received a £100 parking notice for leaving my car in their car park. I have appealed and although I have been able to provide SOLID evidence that I was a client of the pub and why I was there they upheld the charges alleging that the car wasn't appropriately recorded in the system!!!! Huge risk paying £100 for a pint!

Despite using the facility for over 2 hours for breakfast/coffe with a friend, I received a parking fine because I hadn’t entered my registration into the system. I had not seen any notices anywhere instructing me to do so. The bar staff were nice and the food was very good. However, the manager I spoke to after receiving the fine was very reluctant to help me when I asked him to check CCTV records to back up my appeal against the fine. I ended up having to pay £100 to the parking company, after my appeal was rejected due to insufficient evidence. Therefore, I can not recommend this venue, due to their lack of support for a genuine customer.

Stopped at this pub for one drink on the way home. Two weeks later I received a £100 fine from a parking enforcement agency. Not obvious from signage that I was required to register my vehicle with pub staff and no attempt by staff to warn me. The manager subsequently denied responsibility and blamed his landlord for the policy. Appeal in progress but be very careful. Everything else about the visit was fine but not a place I would use again.

This hotel has my top ranking. I have stayed at many hotels over the years and this one is up there with the very best. I lovely friendly atmosphere is maintained- young & older are taken well care of with superb, newly refurbished rooms & a good all round breakfast. I feel, this hotel just about gets that delicate balance right in being there for all to enjoy .
