Horton Grange is a stunningly beautiful Country House Hotel, conveniently located close to Newcastle Airport, just a few minutes from the A1 in Newcastle upon Tyne. Despite our peaceful and very rural setting, Newcastle city-centre can be reached in under 15 minutes, making this hotel a very popular choice for guests with varying objectives. A former private home, the original building has been sympathetically converted and extended to blend original features with the needs and expectations of a contemporary modern hotel. From the moment you set foot on the premises, our aim is that you feel immediately relaxed and can just enjoy your surroundings, letting the team ensure your stay is really memorable. We have nine beautiful bedrooms, each quite different but all very much full of their own character. The business is wholly family-run, setting us quite apart from the proliferance of chain hotels – if you have a bespoke request, we’ll always endeavour to make it happen. The hotel restaurant boasts 2 AA Rosettes and the hard-working kitchen team work relentlessly alongside our Head Chef to create stunning cuisine, making the most of fresh, local and seasonal ingredients. Our bar area is friendly and relaxing and we have a well-stocked cellar with everything from wine from the classic regions through to more keenly priced emerging vineyards. We also boast a spectacular range of gins and a great selection of fizz! We’re also grounded enough to be conscious of our Newcastle roots and if you just want a really nice pint of lager, that’s fine too! We are blessed with the most stunning mature gardens and this helps to make us a very popular Wedding Venue – a myriad of photo opportunities are available to enhance the memories of our wonderful Brides and Grooms – we are fully licenced for civil ceremonies and are proud to be a truly inclusive venue, welcoming all couples to make this the perfect place in which to exchange the most important words they’ll ever say! If you want to make it special, make it Horton Grange.

Had the most amazing time at a friends wedding recently. Venue is beautiful and staff very attentive. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure we had a memorable experience on such a special day. The food was fantastic throughout and my partner particularly enjoyed the full English breakfast! Thank you to everyone for making our time with you so special.

Iv read all the fantastic reviews and quite frankly am puzzled!!!did we stay at the same place???? At 110 I expected a nice breakfast... Tea n coffee served in a flask???? A flask in a hotel?????? Cheap white or brown sliced bread? No fruit? No yoghurt?? Few small multipak cereals?? Absolutely dreadful breakfast.. Service by manageress was rushed.. She clearly enjoyed herself the previous nit!we saw her!!!!!! No robes or slippers?? 3 measly one inch high.. I kid u not!! Toiletries!! Iv neva actually seen such cheap nasty items!! So disappointed in Horton grange.. Its clearly gone downhill massively!! Couldn't possibly recommend for a wedding! I read a review from July wedding which was fab!! Something is clearly wrong somewhere.. B very careful if yr planning Yr wedding here!! We had a very hard time actually communicating with them in the run up to the wedding!!if u want t a decent breakfast try the premier inn! Beds just as comfy and Far superior breakfast.. Surroundings obviously not anywhere near comparable but the keys in the words... Bed and breakfast!!! Breakfast is one of the most important part of Yr stay wouldn't u agree!!

We had the best wedding on 24th July at Horton Grange. Planning a wedding is stressful enough but in a pandemic is was a nightmare!! Nick and his team made the day so special for us and we can't thank them enough. Simply the best service/care myself and my wife have experienced. If you are looking to get married, i promise that you will not be let down!! Thanks again Nick and the team

Lovely old building dinner and breakfast very nice.Parking good lovely gardens lit at night.. Excellent service with a smile. Twin room in the main house, with shower room very spacious and clean think recently refurbished as not like pictures on website. Sneaky picture of a double room added. All four bedrooms face over the front of the hotel nice outlook. There are 5 chalet rooms adjacent to the house that look very nice and accommodate dogs.. Central for lots of sightseeing 20 mins from Newcastle and Whitley Bay, bit further to Alnwick Castle which is closed till April but the gardens were lovely, further to Hexham and Roman ruins... Enjoyed it would return.

We stayed in one of the garden rooms which was brilliant for letting the dog out and had lots of room for her bed too. The food is excellent and the service is very good. We found the staff friendly and chatty. Stayed last years and we are back again in March.
