My wife and I traveled to Scotland in late September/early October and stayed in various locations throughout the country. The Balsporran B&B was one of our favorite stops during our travels! We were greeted by Fiona and Geoff with a warm cup of coffee and tea by the fireplace when we initially arrived. Fiona and Geoff were very courteous and made us feel very welcome to their home. We quickly realized though that the real owner of the home was their 10 year old bearded collie (Oakley) who also made us feel very welcome. The B&B is located off the main highway close to a stream and seemingly surrounded by mountains on both sides of the inn. Although we were close to multiple walking trails, we were not at the inn long enough to appreciate the walks around the property. I also want to mention the inn is located close to the train tracks, but the train went by so fast, it was barely noticeable. When we initially arrived, my wife and I had not eaten dinner yet and we decided to grab a bite in nearby Dalwhinnie. As we found out at breakfast in the morning, Fiona is such a good cook we probably should have stayed and eaten some of the snacks that Fiona and Geoff offered. After dinner, Geoff sat with us and we drank some great Dalwhinne scotch whiskey and shared stories about the local area and the whiskey aging process. The room was very comfortable and we slept very well that evening (the scotch may have helped). At breakfast the next day, we enjoyed a superb meal of haggis and blood pudding, something I never thought I would enjoy, but Fiona and Geoff must have a secret recipe because I really enjoyed it. It's too bad they don't make it as good in a can like another one of the guests (Thomas) had mentioned. Fiona also offered some very good fudge that we enjoyed during our travels. I would HIGHLY recommend this B&B for anyone that wants to enjoy a relaxing Scottish stay with very generous hosts, just remember to bring a big appetite and an extra treat for Oakley.

We stayed here for an extended weekend. It was just wonderful. It was so cozy and the hosts were incredibly kind and accommodating. The food was delicious. We will definitely be back. The rooms were clean and cozy and the location was perfect. You can go out walking straight into the hills behind the house.

I stayed here with a group of friens during our road trip through schotland. This was for sure the best B&B by far. The B&B is beautiful, cozy, well equipped and the breakfast was very good! Best thing is the personal touch of the owners, they really made it feel like a home. Absolutely recommended, and I will certainly visit Balsporran again if I'm in the neighborhood.

We stayed here for 1 night during our driving trip in the Lake District and Scotland.
A warm welcome by Fiona and Gregg and not to forget Oakley their dog. We had great dinner in a city 20 min drive and when we arrived backhome the fire in the living room was lighted. The other guest from Swiss was there and Gregg presented us some local Whiskey..
Rooms were great and clean with an amazing view... Than the the breakfast. This is amazing!!!! everything fresh and taste lovely.
When I need to stay over a next time in this area this is the place to go!
