The guys that run this place have been doing loads of work to upgrade and then improve it. When I first visited the area many years ago it was more of a pub than a hotel/restaurant. We would drink pints and play darts and eat really good local food. Nowadays it is a restaurant of the highest standard. They have... More

Accommodation base for a Photo Workshop with The Open Studio. Essentially out of season. Very comfortable accommodation and rooms, good facilities and tidy and clean throughout. Friendly owners/staff and good breakfast choice. Good quality Dinner, although no choices and no after dinner coffee/tea offered?

What, no one has anything bad to say? Impossible. It was a bit hot in the restaurant - there (but we do have a very cold flat and sleep with the window open all year). No, even with the most critical eye, cannot think of anything else. We stayed the night, wonderfully appointed room, top en suite, the most comfy... More

We were only there for one night but could have stayed much longer. The service was first class and the staff all very welcoming. We ate in the Fat Whippet restaurant and the food was Michelin star standard, absolutely lovely.

Had lunch today 30/10/16. Food was superb, staff very friendly. Recommend the fish pie, it was magnificent. Also there is a vegitarian choice on the menu. The bar has a wide range of gins, whiskies, and beers. And the view over Loch Ewe beautiful. Sorry it is closing until March, but we will be back.

This was our second visit to the restaurant, the last one being a year ago. We were delighted with the quality of the food (again!) and the friendly service. One of the reasons for coming back to this area was to eat here again and we were certainly not disappointed.

We went for an evening meal on the Fat Whippet restaurant. I had a scallop starter that was absolutely fantastic. Veal main also just superb. The quality of the food was first class with excellent service and a warm atmosphere. Would thoroughly recommend it and look forward to returning.

We had a lovely 3 night stay at the hotel. We were really impressed with the hospitality of Bill and Robin - they do everything they can to ensure that their guests have a great experience and their level of service is excellent. We ate in the Convoy bar two nights and the Fat Whippet restaurant one night. All the... More

This was a real "find". Friendly staff and owners and comfortable room. However the highlight was a superb evening meal in the restaurant. Top marks for presentation of quality food from a good menu and nice wine list...very enjoyable. We will be back.

What a beautiful highland restaurant in a stunning location! Amazing scallop starter, halibut main course and pear tart for desert! Perfect relaxed atmosphere, made even better by the very friendly whippet in the bar (not too fat!!). We will definitely be back again!!
