We really enjoyed our stay here. Wonderful hosts and an excellent studio unit in a beautiful setting. The location is perfect, as it's an easy walk to the village for food and supplies. Plus, you can follow a trail behind the property right down to Lake Rotoiti. Couldn't be simpler. The studio unit is nice, with plenty of room and... More

Have stayed there twice. Both times was impressed by the comfort, cleanliness and service, not to mention the roaring fire in the lounge. An excellent place to use as a cheap base for exploring Nelson Lakes area.

Stayed in dorm room for one night before heading into the park for the walk up to Lake Angelus hut. Booked the bed over the phone as I was arriving late - the woman assisting was very friendly and helpful. Kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms were all spotless and well equipped, and laundry facility was very handy. This is a great option... More

Took bed in dorm in backpackers, although separate rooms for couples/groups also looked good value. Pricier motel units available Well-equipped kitchen. Everything spotless I stayed there before and after excellent 5-day Traver-Sabine Circuit, but good place also just to hang out, and do day walks, cycling etc. Many were doing Angelus Trek Close to lake for swimming, and 50 metres... Receptionist Emma was a very helpful alert Swedish girl who gave us good info and helped with playing cards, laundry etc. Kitchen was better than average, big and clean. wi fi didn't work very well tho...and the owner admitted there wasn't... I was travelling with my young son and was told by the female receptionist to park in the carpark in front of the kitchen area. A couple of nights later I came back and found it full, so parked in the only spot I could in order to let others come and go. Found my car rolled forward the next... More

We stayed one night in a log cabin during late winter, the room was warm with the heater on. We should have stayed longer. The room was big and tidy with basic cooking facilities, which was lucky because the restaurant in town was closed. There is a great bush walk at the back door of the Motel which leads down... More

We stayed one night in a cabin with lounge, little kitchen (with everything you need though) and bedroom with en-suite bathroom. The heat pump kept us warm on a very cold night, everything was very clean and tidy. The receptionist (and owner I believe) was very helpful and chatty. We had a very nice stay!

Spent 2 nights here with my grandson recently & thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Yvonne, the owner was very friendly & helpful. The Lodge was booked out that first night so we actually spent that night in one room of their 'Cottage' (the cottage had two rooms so we shared the living area and bathroom with another guest) before we moved into...
