We recently reserved a table for 3 for dinner to celebrate an Aunt's birthday at the Ees Wyke Country House Hotel. It was such an enjoyable evening from start to finish. We received a very warm welcome from the chef/owner Richard and his assistant on our arrival. We enjoyed pre-dinner drinks in the attractive lounge followed by a really wonderful...

This is a lovely house in a idyllic setting. You can sit out on the back veranda and watch the sun go down, or walk down to the lake and enjoy the fresh country air. The scenery of lake and trees and mountains along with flowers is breathtaking. The staff were very welcoming, and the morning breakfast had several options...

We found the historic Ees Wyke Country House with its Beatrix Potter links after an Internet search and after a friendly conversation with the proprietor Richard we booked for a two night stay. The location is stunning and with our room overlooking the lake the panoramic view was spellbinding and inspiring. The food was outstanding with a fantastic cooked breakfast...

My husband and I stayed in the Sunshine room which had gorgeous views of the lake. There were some lovely touches such as a carafe of sherry, tea and coffee and bottled water left in th room, which were replenished daily. The staff were really efficient, friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed the exceptional breakfasts and dinner cooked by...

A beautiful location with excellent breakfasts. Friendly hosts. Very pleasant rooms, thoughtful touches, such as plasters for blistered feet! We liked the fact it was small, only eight bedrooms, which made it very special.

Rooms were clean and the decanter of sherry in the room was a nice touch. Food was very good and breakfast was excellent. Owner Richard was very helpful as were all the staff and I can fully...

Cosy old hotel - very quaint so don't expect first rate decor v British and lovely. Really cozy and wonderful just what we wanted. The attention to detail was second to none - shoe cleaning box in the wardrobe, decanter of sherry next to the bed, decanter with anti-bacterial wipes, plasters, baby buds, cotton balls, lovely Lake District water, slow...

We had a lovely room overlooking Esthwaite in this interesting Georgian Country House hotel. The owner, Richard was very attentive, greeting us with exceptionally good tea in front of an open fire with perfect views, on our arrival. The breakfast and dinner, all cooked by him were well deserving of his AA Rosette. I went with my mum but can't...
