We loved this place! Basic accommodation with nice sea views and lovely food. We stayed in a standard twin room with private bathroom. It could use some renovation, but the setting is still very nice. Great little bar, swimming pool and a good vibe!

We visited Buccaneers this Christmas. The location is spectacular and the views are breath taking - it is a real must see and worth the trip. We booked a Safari Tent for one night and it was a great disappointment, to put it mildly. The bedding was not fresh (i.e. Dirty) and smelt of body odour. As if that was...

We camped here for three nights and really enjoyed it, the atmosphere is lovely! At first we were disappointed that there were only two toilets for the whole campsite (unisex) but this didn't prove to be a problem despite the December "crowds". We were also disappointed there was only one braai, but the staff later brought a second, and we...

Beautiful sea and lagoon but accommodation really too spare, basic and rustic. It needs a huge revamp and a good scrub. Would not recommend it for families. Young people who are into the wild would love it. We didn't stay.

This was our first visit to the Eastern Cape and to Chintsa. We loved every minute! Do not be fooled by the "backpackers" in the name. This is everything from a lodge to a family resort to a backpackers for many international travellers. We stayed in the "Biko" room with a beautiful view over the lagoon and the beach. The...

I am generally not a friend of rustic or self-cater or backpacking youth , but my experience here puts all that in question. The vibe carries the day, the setting makes it seem all quite alright. Buccaneers does what it does probably better than any place I have seen in the world. It sets up an informal colony on a...

A unique spot in the sense that it caters to both backpackers as well folks who are willing to spend a little extra to have their own suites or cottages. The dinners are all family style and are excellent! The property is run by folks who are in their 20's and live on the massive property. They're all extremely friendly...

I travelled here with my boyfriend and stayed for two nights in one of the Seaview Ensuite rooms (Albertina). The room is basically like a studio cottage, when you enter, there's a small kitchenette with a microwave and mini fridge, on the other side of the room is the ensuite shower and toilet, and then there is the main part...

This Backpackers is far out of town, and you need a rental car to get here... Was very disappointed at the Private room, which was actually just a private room in a shared dorm room of 12 people. Fairly noisy as it is wood floors. Shared bathroom and toilet. So not what I expected at all if you think you...

We only stayed one night at Buccaneers Lodge during our 3.5 weeks in SA and it was the worst place to stay. Our room was not ready once we arrived (at 5! in the afternoon). After one hour waiting we could check in but our room was not clean at all - even not sure if they changed the linen....
