Perfect getaway for families or friends traveling together. Enjoy the beauty of Rome and come home to an oasis of silence and nature with your own garden and gorgeous view! This is a nice country house, only about 35 km north of Rome, located in the beautiful canale monterano village . Bordering the Monterano Park with over 1000 hectares and the famous ghost town of Monterano with the works of Bernini, 420 meters above sea level. Ideal for a family with kids (big or small!), a group of friends, or people looking for a quiet spot... with a beautiful landscape and big garden! Due to its proximity to the ancient Spa of Stigliano and the Spa Terme dei Papi of Viterbo is ideal for visitors wishing to spend relaxing and rejuvenating holydays. The house consists of 3 double bedrooms (possible adjoin another bed), three bathrooms with shower, a large living room (70 square meters with open fireplace), a fully furnished kitchen, an inner courtyard/patio accessible from all rooms of the house. The house can sleep up to 9 adults. You can leave your car in the enclosed garden. The layout of the house is very convenient for couples traveling together as both bedrooms grant privacy. We live simply but beautifully! Trains to Rome run every 30-60 minutes and the price both ways including public transportation inside Rome (very convenient!!) is 8 E only. It takes about 1 hour to get to the city center of Rome. Trains run hourly, sometimes twice an hour, so you don't need to take your car to Rome, which is very convenient! The lake has exceptional clean water (drinking quality provision intended for Rome!) No motor boats have been allowed on the lake for decades. It's a volcanic lake with two othercharming medieval towns on the shore, lots of restaurants offering regional specialties, etc. The Neighborhood The world famous Etruscan excavations of Cerveteri are within an hour's drive, as well as the enchanting towns of Nepi, Viterbo, Sutri and many others who have not yet been discovered by mass tourism. Tarquinia and others Etruscan towns (Barbarano Romano, Blera) are also within relatively easy reach. You can equally drive to the resorts on the Mediterrean beach in less than an hour, if you want a change from swimming in the lake. If you arrive by plane, you can rent a car either at Fiumicino Airport or in our area. There are lots of other things in the area to discover-- a vast forest (with 'adventure playground' for older children), horseback riding, even rock climbing, you won't get tired of it! To come and stay in my flat will give you the opportunity to live for a few days in a marvellous small village. I can give you a lot of tips in terms of things to do, places to visit, restaurant to go eat real Italian food (where the locals go...). I organise nordic walking groups discovering unexplored tracks. After all, Lazio is not all about Rome. There are plenty of nice places to visit in this area. I have mentioned already the castle of Bracciano (which lately hosted lots of Hollywood stars' wedding - e.g. Tom Cruise - Mena Suvari), the wonderful Borgo in Trevignano but just to highlight a few more I would also recommend visiting the medieval city of Viterbo, the fascinating village of Calcata, the charming Borgo in Anguillara Sabazia or the small lake Martignano (located absolutely in the middle of nowhere).
