Stayed one night travelling through for work. The room on the first floor was very quiet and spacious, but the aircon blows on the bed no matter how you adjust the louvres, plus has a very bright green light that illuminates the room somewhat. The bed is a most basic foam mattress and for me it was very difficult to sleep. Pathways around rooms not illuminated and care is needed at night. Bar service very friendly but slow; staff very helpful throughout and everything done with a smile. Bar does pizza takeaway as an alternative to the buffet dinner. TV has approximately 10 channels, all in French. Breakfast simple with the expected options, but nothing cooked. Parking free and secure

I have stayed a total of 16 nights here over 2 visits and have found the accomodation satisfactory, the meals are basic and they have a limited selection, meals I would class as average. The rooms are a reasonable size but are very dark, bring a torch if you plan to cook on the 2 element stove. The shower runs out of hot water each time I use it, after a 3-4 minutes of use, and there are no shower curtains. The pool and bar area is nice and the staff are friendly, it would have helped if I could speak French.

The Monitel is the only place to stay in Koumac but for me it was fine. I had a villa by the pool and it was ordinary but clean and nice. The restaurant is pretty good, can't say I was disappointed. Choice is breakfast is only croissants or bread and jam which was fine for me Being able to speak french would be a big advantage

kick back and relax after roughing it, zooming around the island. I stayed two nights so I could make a day trip to the very north and 'come home' after. Very friendly staff, had a good old chat to Davene from Saint Etienne who's been there for three years now and you can see why one would. Had Pizza both nights and I will be back there, another day. The path to the back of the hotel, past the rooms is a bit off. But that's the only complaint.

Stopped there for 1 night. Bungalow rooms around the poor are quite good, but standard room are much older & just a little less expensive. Good service. Restaurant is decent. Go there if you can get one of the bungalow room.

We booked this place on booking.com. Got a choice of standard or superior double room. We went for a superior double room. On arrival got this cage type of room at the back of the hotel with no view what so ever. There was a kettle but no cups, neither tea, coffee facilities. No window curtain, no shower curtain so all the water from the shower was spraying all over the floor and the toilet. Our towels were pretty worn out, probably washed millions of times. Bed was uncomfortable I woke up pretty sore. And the smell throughout the hotel and as we found out in our room too was very unpleasant. Our room's odour was especially quite bad. Like a very strong deodorant. Would not recommend anyone to stay there.

This hotel has a motel type feel. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food i.e. dinner was good quality. Breakfast is a little meagre but that is the same in most places in NC. Don't expect luxury and you shouldnt be too disappointed. The rooms were adequate but uninspiring (and we were in the best rooms - bungalows by the pool). Whilst there is a 'security gate', don't leave valuables in your car. Scuba divers with local dive outfit Reve Bleu receive a very good discount, which makes a return trip a serious possibility.

but it is by no means great - whether ther location nor the hotel itself. But it is ok, people friendly and helpful, even though there a minor problems, e.g. my bedlamp was not fixed when I asked for it. Breakfast rather minimal - but it will get you through the day. Pool in the midst of the proberty - so you might feel somewhat exposed. But room are spacious and clean.

Everytime I stay there I hit my shins on the wooden bed frame. It's brings a laugh and a tear to my eyes. The only fault is breakfast, it ordinary to say the least. Dinner is excellent value and the quality is good. Beer is cold

We use the Monitel for a base when we visit Koumac to go fishing. The hotel has different grades of accommodation. We tend to opt for the cheapest as it is a fishing trip and we're not looking for luxury. It's quite Spartan but comfortable enough. It's air-conditioned and clean - more than adequate for our purposes. The restaurant at the hotel is excellent and the staff are friendly, notwithstanding the very limited English spoken!
