This place exceeded expectations. The lodge is spacious, we got the suite with the jacuzzi and on a winter night it was absolutely a highlight. Super clean, lush, and spacious it was better value albeit very remote compared to the nearby Sheraton deva. I would return here, there’s also a nightly dining option which makes uses of the property’s vegetables and fruits, and changes nightly. Wasn’t too expensive either and a nice reprieve from the not so many choices around the area. There’s also a kitchenette with a cooktop so that would definitely be an option if wanting to make the most of the lodge. Horses and dogs abound, the property is immaculately kept.
Lovely setting we booked a suite with private jacuzzi which was really open to the elements and surprisingly private. We always stay near the beach and did this for something totally different and really enjoyed it. Not a lot to do there so went for a drive every day to the beach but happily returned to a really nice evening meal
We were a bit disappointed by le Betikure, the bungalows are pretty nice and large, located in peaceful place, a bit isolated. Our main issue was with the service, which was pretty bad; poor welcoming with little to no explanations for things to do around Bourail, we felt in the way and rushed to check out while the hotel was pretty empty, you also really need to speak French there. The diner was ok but expensive.
This place in nettle in the middle of forest, very quiet and serene. Owner operators are very friendly as well as all the staffs. Accomodations are of hight standard ,clean spacious and full of natural light. Food is excellent, dinner is a set menu, i had Terrine of Deer, followed by Duck breast and finished with a Mango tarte a tatin.. Breakfast is a buffet style with only freshly bake croissants, chocolate croissants, brioches.....All the jam are local source and made. Fresh fruits salads, any way the lots and delicious. Enfin un très bon endroit to stay
I had a lovely bungalow in the forest with a nice terrace, very clean and with a beautiful bathroom. It was located at the second bungalows' area about 400m from the main hotel. As the place is very remote, you either have to cook yourself (if you book a big bungalow with kitchen) or dine at the hotel; otherwise, it's about 25 minutes drive to Bourail, which has nothing exceptional for dinner anyway. There is no possibility to choose what to order at the hotel's restaurant - bear in mind that you have to inform them many hours in advance if you are planning to have dinner there - as a three-course menu is offered, which is different every day. Glad that they were at least willing to accommodate my vegetarian requests, but I would have really preferred having the possibility to choose what to eat myself. The pool is nice although not very big, but in a perfect setting within the lush vegetation. The mobile telephone network does not have coverage at all there (that gives you an indication of how remote the place is) but the internet was working perfectly. All in all, if you want to relax in a serene location away from everything, this is the place to be!…
Strange I had not heard of this little gem before. We were offered a night as a gift and had no idea or expectations of where we were going. It is always nice to be pleasantly surprised. Space, is a word that instantly comes to mind. The bungalows are situated in a valley of spreading hills and open land. The room itself was light and airy, windows and balcony making the most of the surrounding views. The rooms are minimalist but nicely appointed with the necessary and expected amenities (except coffee sachets and milk) but for the quality of accommodation, price and friendliness that is a bit of a mute point. Dinner was delicious and breakfast correct. Service friendly and kind. Dogs also friendly! Free and powerful wifi available. Bungalows can accommodate between 1 to 6 pax with interconnecting access if you take the whole bungalow. If not, each stand alone accommodation can be divided into 2 private spaces, the larger of which has kitchen and spa. The property has a lovely pool but not a lot of other activities available on site but I can highly recommend, for a place to go and relax. The price was very reasonable for the quality of the facilities. No hesitation in recommending this lovely little eco-resort…
Well designed, stylish accommodation. Close drive to fresh bread and patisserie in Bourail. Helpful staff and nice dogs. Delicious, well priced food available if booked in advance. 20 minute drive to beaches and island trip.
Betikure was the highlight of our trip to New Caledonia. Stylish cottages, wonderful cuisine, incredibly friendly owners - we couldn't have asked for more, really. Here's a tip: be flexible with your dates, if possible, because this property gets packed at weekends (loads of people coming up from Noumea). Totally worth the trip to Bourail, this place is a destination in itself.
As the title says :) really had a good time overthere :) We took the Black wood Suite, and as i said to my girlfriend, she has the honeymoon but not the wedding huhu, Enjoy ! We will get there again for a longer stay . :)
We loved this place so much we returned for a second night on our NC holiday. The room we had each time was perfect with tasteful furnishings, comfy bed and luxurious shower. Everything was spotlessly clean, the outlook from our room and deck was superb and the hospitality of the owners most welcoming. I would recommend this as the place to stay to explore the area around Bourail. Good distance from Tontouta for last night stay.
