Absolutely loved this place. We stayed for 2 weeks in a private double room with en-suite bathroom. Andrea and the crew are so welcoming. The whole place is spotless. Shared kitchen is great with a great choice of cooking facilities, microwave, toaster, water boiler, own fridges and lockers. The kitchen is very clean and provides a shared freezer and tea towels. The beautiful beach of Poe is situated at the bottom of the hostels well manicured gardens. Lots of wonderful walks and points of interest. The garden offers hammocks, BBQ’s and a great decking eating area. Inside there is a TV lounge, board games and a good sized eating area. On arrival you are issued with pillows and bed sheets and a box of crockery and cutlery. 2 lockers and 2 fridges are allocated for your personal use. The hostel is a fabulous place to meet fellow travellers. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Great place, we enjoyed our quick stay and definitely will come back here again. Came with our 2 kids and our dog, the reception was friendly and very helpfull with the check in n out. The entire auberge is clean, spacious, very organized and cozy. Dog friendly too (which is not often the case in NC) so we could take our dog with us. Kids love the variyty choices of boardgames and books. And the best of all, Poé's beaches are just magnificent!!

I was really impressed by this hostel - the location to the beach, the facilities, and staff were fantastic! My partner and I booked a room to ourselves, and while it was basic, it was clean, large and had a door that went out onto the shared lawn and decking area where we had meals and drinks. You received your own food locker, plates, cutlery, glasses and refrigerator. The cooking facilities were great (shared kitchen with pots, bowls, knives, gas cookers etc) as was the free wifi. But make sure you stock up on food needs before you get there. We made use of the free kayaks, and while you had to pay for a towel, it was very cheap. Overall we had a fantastic stay, thank you!

Room Tip: We had a room with direct access to the main lawn, which I think only 4 or 5 rooms have.

It's hard to believe this is a hostel, it is nicer than many hotels. The rooms are simple but clean and comfortable, with attached bathrooms (en suite). There is a large shared kitchen -- everyone gets their own mini-refrigerator and storage cupboard. The grounds are beautiful and can be used for relaxing (lots of comfortable chairs, hammocks) or camping. The beach is just beyond the back gate of the garden. There are laundry facilities. The wifi is good in the common areas, but it is free. I would absolutely return here and stay for longer if I can.

No seriously, this is one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in. The facilities are beautiful, it’s incredibly clean, it has everything (and more) that you would ever need in a hostel. It’s in a beautiful location, near hiking trails and right on the beach. Free kayaks, hammocks and friendly staff. I had come to Poe specifically because I’d heard great things about the hostel and I was glad I went!

We really enjoyed our 9-nigts-stay here. Rooms and all the areas very clean. Internet signal really weak or none in rooms, but good in common areas and outside. Andrea and Nicola very helpful despite busy time, free kayaks for the guests and hammocks in the garden. Good equiped kitchen with fridge for each room. Our impression was that staff was the only one who was bothered about kids (not only ours) making noise and "hashing" them all the time. There were almost only families with kids in the house. We would recommend this place.

Wow. Great facilities, cleanest kitchen I've ever seen, free wifi, BBQ, games, books, hammocks and multiple decent kayaks. The beach and swimming is awesome (other than low tide where it's a log walk out) and the kayaks let you get out to the reef edge (there's a marked snorkeling route) with the best corals and sea life I've seen, or to a number of remote islets. Very friendly owners to go with all that gets it a 5 star rating.

We travelled through New Caledonia with our tent and camped at the side of the auberge. Camping there costed around 10€ p.p., which is a bit more than on other campgrounds in New Caledonia but that's definitely worth it: You can use the common kitchen and all the facilities. But what's best: You can use their kayaks for free - so you can go to the amazing snorkeling place which is a 45min kayak ride away from the auberge without any spending. Snorkeling there was just an amazing experience. The auberge is very well organized, the staff speaks English (partly also German) and helped us a lot planning our roadtrip...
