Stayed here for one night having read many good reviews....sadly not for us. Had a warm welcome and shown to a 'disabled' access room. The room smelt stale and damp resulting in the guy who had shown us to the room opening the window straight away. We hoped this would help but we couldn't leave it open due to being...

we stayed at the battlesteads a few weeks ago on a travel zoo deal which included a two night stay and an eight course taster menu. We stayed in a room overlooking the back garden and although small was well appointed. The eight course taster menu was good and nice to eat different things, I even tasted the beetroot dish...

Fabulous new lodges very spacious, great shower and corner bath, large bedroom area - lacking comfortable seating, fridge with fresh fruit good selection of drinks including water and biscuits. Bathrobes and slippers. Old style bar with good selection of beers, good service and very pleasant staff, nice restaurant, varied menu with good choice, we were disappointed both nights with the...

Went on an offer/deal 2 night break B&B + one night tasting menu. It was a fantastic place to stay and the food was of a very high standard. This was fortunate as the only other place to eat in the village was shut when we were there! The pub/hotel is very relaxed, comfortable and ecologically run. There are walks(details provided)from the...

After a flight delay which caused us to miss another flight and lose our luggage - we arrived 51/2 hours after our expected arrival. Christina (as promised) kept our room, served us sandwiches (after the kitchen had closed) and beer. And the owners gladly washed our clothing (which we had been wearing for 2 days) AND loaned us something to...

Stayed here for two nights in late March. We had a ground floor room opposite reception but were not troubled by noise at all even though the hotel was pretty full. The bathroom was adapted for disabled use and was very spacious. The bedroom was extremely comfortable and well appointed with a good tea/coffee tray, water and fruit provided. Only...

Went for a break with a couple of friends and booked the Battlesteads Hotel for the weekend. What a find. A lovely hotel in a village. We stayed in the garden lodges - they are a treat. They have a young lad there called Alex, hosting front of house and he is a great asset to the hotel. Charming, personable,...
