Stayed at Englishtown Ridge in August 2016. I had stayed there as a kid 20+ years ago and it was under different management this time. The Campground is quite nice. The owners seem to take pride in the place and the abundance of season long campers keep the place looking great. The facilities including the showers were in excellent shape and the Campground offers a nice centralized area for hanging out if the weather turns rough. The showers are pay, but I found it relatively inexpensive to get through a shower so it was not that big a deal. The campground itself is well situated a little bit outside Baddeck and served as a nice centralized location to strike out to various attractions like the Cabot Trail and the Fortress. All in all it was a very pleasant experience.

Although it was quite cold in the night, I enjoyed the 3 days I spent at this campground. I had a lovely lot below the pool (yes there is a beautiful swimming pool on-site!) overlooking the bay and pretty secluded from other nearby sites. Everything needed for a comfortable camping trip is available including a small convenience store, flush toilets and hot showers. There is even a sauna! I found it to be quite quiet at night except for the noisy racoon that ransacked a nearby site. The location is also excellent being close to hiking trails, beaches, scenic look-offs and the beautiful little town of Baddeck which is only twenty minutes away.

I read the reviews and read between the lines, any complaints were about others campers i.e. Noise etc. It's a really nice spot, my family loved it. Lots of trees instead of a big open field, staff are friendly and everything is very well looked after. Grounds are well maintained. Arcade and lounging are was very cleaning. I ground pool is sheltered with shrubs and hedges. There were loud kids there, maybe I should have complained and gave a negative rating (sarcasm). Great view, walk down the driveway and walk along the street beside the ocean. We planned for one night and stayed for two.

We stayed here after realizing we were about out of gas and close to our puffin charter we had to get to in the morning. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating... even offering us gas to ensure we made it to a station! We tent camped and our spot was very nice, overlooking the bay. Would definitely recommend.

This is a good spot if you have children. It's a smaller campground with a great playground. The pool looked nice, but it was closed when we were there at the start of the season. They had a great indoor area for rainy days as well. The only negative was I felt too close to the trailers around me, but it wouldn't stop me from going back.
