Stayed at Hotel Palazzo Salis in Solgio. Lovely historic hotel which was converted from an old mansion house and dating back from the 17 century. Wonderful hosts, most welcoming and this hotel has ambience which matches the wonderful setting of Solgio, a pretty village steeped in history at 1090 metres on a plateau!! There are wonderful views of the mountains...

This hotel has been recommended by many friends and we finally had the opportunity to spend the night. We had a delightfully large room with a nice view. The beds were new, modern and comfortable. Naturally, the bathroom was tight but that is to be expected in such a historic building. The food was fine and the service top notch,...

We visited the beautiful village of Soglio because of its reputation as as a stunning unspoilt alpine village with views of the Piz Badile, Piz Cengalo and Sciora range. In addition lunch in the pretty orchard garden of Hotel Palazzo Salis was on the agenda....we were not disappointed. The setting is idyllic and the food fabulous. After lunch we explored...

If you are looking for 5* palace I recommend to stay away. You will spoil other guests pleasure. This is a place for people who appreciate genuine atmosphere, don't need minibar or TV or spa to be happy. It is a unique opportunity to stay in an almost 400 years old palace where all the individual 16 rooms are furnished...

What a fantastic experience! Having the chance to stay in an old palace was worth climbing the stairs up to the top floor. There is no elevator, but even with my physical limitations it was worth the effort! Getting to the Palazzo Salis is half the adventure. It is set high up in the Alps and surrounded by majestic views...

It's rather dispiriting reading some of the reviews because one wonders why they came if they didn't get the point. That being that Soglio is an extremely beautiful village (mind there's a good chance it will be foggy or rain so pack sensible shoes to walk the Roman road under the chestnut trees) And that the Palazzo Soglio is, in...

... and this price can be old fashioned hotel rooms, uneven floors and, of course, tourists flooding the place! Soglio is worth a visit, even if you just want to come in autumn and collect those terrribly stingy chestnuts or enjoy a hike in the beautiful surroundigns of Soglio. Not far from St. Moritz and a completely different world. The...

I booked two rooms over 4 months before arrival. I am 6' 1" . I didn't fit in the bed they tried to give me for 300 francs. I got another room overlooking an alley and was still charged the same even though it was obviously a "dog" of a room. I complained and was told they gave all the...

We stumbled upon Soglio last year and enjoyed a fine lunch in the gardens of Hotel Palazzo Salis so this year we decided to stay one night and explore the village before heading off to Val Gardena. The hotel itself exudes old world charm. Having previously been a palace it has maintained many of its original features, furniture and decor...

Over many years this has been the perfect getaway for a romantic weekend in the mountains. Soglio is such a beautiful little village with lots of charm and character. The hotel is also very cosy and the food excellent. In autumn the game dishes are a special treat! We also enjoy very much the lovely and award-winning garden in the...
