The Springfield Hotel enjoys fabulous views over the River Dee and has excellent road links to the beautiful Roman city of Chester, North-West England and North Wales. This friendly, comfortable hotel enjoys a fantastic location for those travelling on business or for those exploring the attractions and stunning countryside of North Wales. All of the rooms are well equipped with large flatscreen television, free superfast wifi throughout, tea/coffee making facilities and en-suite showers and baths. The Hotel offers a large Health Club with gymnasium featuring Technogym equipment, Sauna, Steam Room and large balcony Hot Tub with wonderful views. All these facilities are free to Hotel residents. In addition a superb new Spa, offering a wide range of treatments along with a Rasul Mud Room, has now opened. We do advise booking treatments in advance. The Restaurant and Bar offer quality home-cooked food, made using fresh local produce and a huge selection of drinks and wines. We are particularly proud of our food and have many regular customers. Or simply relax in the Bar, showing Sky and BT Sports, and take in the stunning views from the heated outdoorTerrace.

Booked online, table was ready, no delay. All waiting-on staff were brilliant in their timing and approach. No rush but at the same time prompt when needed. Waitress explained today was a new menu. I can say with absolute honesty, it was fresh, delicious and filling. Lovely red wine selection. Children’s menu was equally as good. This will be a Sunday regular for us now. Good job chef and waiting-on staff !!

Extremely accommodating staff, very friendly and nice rooms. Didn't seem that anything was too much to ask. Even cared for my own requirements during my stay to allow another day being held up by personal reasons. Foods really good. And overall the place looks clean and well kept. Top notch.

I live 3 minutes away from the Springfield and a member of the health club at the Hotel since its Inception. Due to the reception I receive, and the warm, professional attitude of the staff, I have found myself dining either for buffet breakfast, brunch or lunch several times a week. I’ve never been disappointed with either the fare that I’ve been served or the attention received. I believe in giving credit where its due and ALL THE STAFF at the Springfield Hotel & Health Club deserve praise. Particular mention to Paul, Dale, Wendy, Kat, Simon, Tom & Kim. Lovely shortbreads from Tracy. Top marks to Seb & Jeanette for running a very efficient and welcoming establishment. I would recommend this Hotel to everyone, give it a try, you wont be disappointed.

This was our second trip to The Springfield and again we received a warm welcome from Paul and all the staff at the hotel and spa . We were given 5 star treatment and are looking forward to going back next year. Our little piece of heaven. Thank you to all the staff for making our weekend away so special.

The people truly make this place - from reception to restaurant/bar and housekeeping. Outstanding service at all times of day and nothing too much to ask for. Rooms are in the ‘older’ part of the hotel and possibly in need of a facelift but unnoticed when the hospitality is a mark above the rest. Buffet breakfast was fresh and clean and restaurant dining was attentive and top quality. We also took advantage of the festive afternoon tea which was delicate and handmade, warm scone and brownie included (we only found out about the festive cocktails on our second night but these would have been consumed all weekend had we known!!). Spa isn’t quite equipped for a ‘spa weekend’ in our opinion, more of a regulars gym with sauna and steam room but treatments nice. We weren’t supplied robes and slippers but saw other guests wearing them so assume these would have been available had we planned to spend more time in this area/asked. This will be a top choice on my next trip to North Wales. Excellent location for exploring and delicious menu to try.…

Nice welcome and restaurant looks good. Initially service was quick-not really had time to check out menu before server came for our order. Long wait for drinks and meals to arrive. My partner happy with his meal but mine was a very mixed up offering. Lamb and chorizo do not go together. Style over substance So won’t return anytime soon

We have eaten here often and never been disappointed with the menu, service and high standard of food. Saturday evening hit the jackpot again. A very innovative menu with lots of options to try and a specials menu. The food was amazing. Cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. All the staff were as always, friendly,helpful and polite. All in all a really good experience. this restaurant is definitely at the top of our list of good places to eat.

I am always open and honest and expect a certain standard from anywhere we stay. We were visiting family recently, asked for an executive room, which was 2 singles pushed together, not what I would call exec, also one bed was still on wheels and the other not, so difference in level and easy to slip through the middle. Room was ok size but so many issues i'm afraid, I understand they are still updating but I did not feel over comfortable and was anticipating what would be waiting for us the next few nights! The floor was uneven, the wall heater was very noisy and made continuous noises through the night, the walls are paper thin, tele on our headboard wall from next door too! The doors! Oh the doors!!!!! Wow!!!! Banging doors, horrible and making you jump from the loudness of them, I cannot say anymore!!! Asked about the pool when we arrived, I am sure it said they still had one and they did swimming lessons, so if there is no pool maybe they should highlight that, as the restaurant is now in it!!! As they have extended the restaurant by filling in the pool, then you would think they would fill it, each night we were there they said they were going to be busy, as had a table of 15 and 20 in, rest of the space was not filled, the space where the pool used to be! If that is what busy means to them I would hate to think what they would call my job, they would probably faint! We did not stay for dinner as we went to meet family each evening, but the dining area was always empty apart from the old back area, that table for 20 was there, but that was about it!! And the next night a large table but no one in main area. Breakfast was ok, not mmmm, no rolls, bread left out on display, when used a few pieces they fell apart, the milk was warm on occasion when wanted a glass, and the orange juice jug was empty and had to be asked to be filled up. The cooked breakfast was adequate, nothing to mention really, they apparently do other things for you if you ask, like eggs benedict, but you have to ask unless you have seen the menu online. I would have expected a small breakfast menu to highlight this! Being a Manager of a large complex myself, little things are important and make your stay much better, staff were ok, I would not say over friendly or smiled, a few more staff would help. As there is a mini spa and a few exercise bikes, they sometimes come and sit in the small bar area, I am sorry but it is not large enough for people coming to drop by off the main road after work and guests, it's a strange mix and we did not feel comfortable or want to eat or drink there. So you can have awful music on combined with sport on the tele, the bar is not good. Oh and there is 1 toilet downstairs for EVERYONE!!!!!! Staff, guests, visitors of the Gym/Spa etc...... Really???? Wont be staying again unless completely refurbished and sound proofed! …

Hi, Thanks for taking time to leave a review. There are a couple of shortcomings on our part for which I apologise. The bed has been corrected and a couple of the offending doors repaired. I am very sorry if you had a disturbed night's sleep. And there are couple of other points you make which I will take on board. I will have to correct a couple of comments - we have a 32 station Gymnasium, including 6 treadmills and all other types of equipment, along with a sauna, steam room, and an outdoor spa pool. We haven't had a swimming pool here for over 3 years and don't advertise as such on our website or on Tripadvisor. Also, we have 7 separate toilet facilities on the ground floor available for public use, excluding staff facilities. I think it's important to be factually correct for the benefit of other guests who read the reviews, nevertheless I recognise we have not reached the standard required for your stay, and for that I am sorry.
