Relaxing and peaceful. Surrounded by mountains and beautiful scenery. The waters at the onsen filled with iron and salt is very healing. No need for bottled water because the natural spring water has ph balance of around 7.8 to 8 alkalinity. Staff couldn't be anymore helpful. Provides shuttle to monkey park and to and from train station. Also, this onsen...

We had no idea what to expect when we asked our travel agent to book us into an authentic Japanese hotel. What a great surprise when we checked in. The hotel offers stunning views and is beautifully accessorized by its lovely and talented owner Yuki. We were shown to our room by Moon who did a great job acquainting us...

We stayed for 2 nights to see the Snow Monkeys. The train and snow monkeys pick up and drop off work well, on time both days. The ryokan was clean and the Japanese meal staff were friendly. I think we had just expected it to be a little more traditional - we had a much better experience staying in a...

We stayed one night here and it was awesome! My first time staying in a traditional Japanese hotel and I loved it. The food was very interesting and for the most delicious. The staff was very helpful, especially Mitch! the evening entertainment was great. And by far the best part was sitting in a private onsen on the rooftop in...

This place was a nice surprise. They had an Aussie help out with explaining customs. The kaiseki was so worth doing- great meal! We splurged on a private onsen on the roof, which was great. Our room had a nice view of the mountains. Only stayed one night, but should've stayed one more!

My friend and I were booked to stay the Ryokan Biyunoyado in Yudanaka for 3 nights. We were planning to have as much time with the snow monkeys as possible. That was the mean reason for the trip. On arrival at the Yudanaka train station, we had thought we would walk the 10 minutes the hotel with Google maps, however...

Stayed two nights. The onsens are wonderful. They switch out the men and women nightly so we got to experience both onsens. They are open almost 24 hours. We had breakfast and dinner. Great service. A vast variety of courses. Very Japanese!! Our Japanese style room was comfortable and warm. We loved the feather blankets. The place could use a...

We stayed at Ryokan Biyunoyado for 3 nights from 3rd to 6th Feb. The location of the ryokan is perfect as it is a mere 15mins walk to nearby attractions like the popular shibu onsen town and about 10 mins walk from yudanaka station. The ryokan is a modern ryokan with both indoor and outdoor onsen. They have separate onsen...

This Ryokan compares very favourably with our previous stays in Ryokans. All of the Staff are very helpful and the free shuttle service to and from the station and the monkey park is much appreciated.. The food is more than excellent both in quality and quantity. We would definitely stay here again perhaps in the autumn
